𝙄𝙉 𝙋𝙃𝙊𝙏𝙊𝙎 | The 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 led by Director 𝐌𝐬. 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐲𝐧 𝐃. 𝐅𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐫, along with her staff and a faculty member of College of Arts and Sciences, Mr. Vanz Russel Fontamillas, spearheaded the 𝑪𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑷𝒍𝒆𝒅𝒈𝒆 𝑺𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝑬𝒏𝒅 𝑽𝒊𝒐𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝑨𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒕 𝑾𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏 (𝑽𝑨𝑾) at RSU San Agustin Campus on Tuesday, December 09, 2025.

Ms. Fetalver delivered an inspirational message, provided statistics on victims of VAWC, and gave a brief 𝑶𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒏 𝑺𝒆𝒙𝒖𝒂𝒍 𝑯𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕, reinforcing the university’s advocacy for safe and gender-responsive spaces.

Meanwhile, Campus Director 𝐃𝐫. 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐲 𝐃. 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐧 shared his message of support, emphasizing unity in upholding women’s rights and protection.

𝙏𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧, 𝙬𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙛𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙛𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖 𝙨𝙖𝙛𝙚, 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙛𝙪𝙡, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙑𝘼𝙒-𝙛𝙧𝙚𝙚 𝙍𝙎𝙐 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮.

December 6, 2025 | Romblon State University organized a 𝑾𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑫𝒊𝒔𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒅𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝑶𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒎 in 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧, 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐧 bringing together the community’s seniors for an afternoon of learning, connection, and joy. With activities focused on health, resilience, emotional well-being, and disaster preparedness, the event became a meaningful celebration of the strength and wisdom of our lolos and lolas.

The program was graced by the University President, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐏. 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐣𝐚𝐲-𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢, whose compassionate leadership continues to shape RSU into a truly community-centered institution. She was joined by key officials—𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐞 𝐑. 𝐀𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐚 (SCAO Director), 𝐌𝐫. 𝐑𝐡𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐦 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐠 𝐋𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐬 (SCAO Assistant Director), 𝐌𝐬. 𝐀𝐥𝐩𝐡𝐞́𝐞 𝐅. 𝐋𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐚 (SDPO Director), and 𝐌𝐬. 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐲𝐧 𝐃. 𝐅𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐫 (GAD Director)—along with their staff, all united in championing inclusive support for vulnerable groups.

Moreover, the presence of 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐛𝐚𝐲 further emphasized the importance of strong collaborations between local leaders and educational institutions in uplifting communities.

From engaging wellness talks to disaster preparedness tips tackled by Ms. Alphee Lachica, and from lighthearted games to shared laughter, the day fostered genuine connection between our seniors and the community. The program also featured a gift giving for our dear elders. It stood as a beautiful reminder that caring for the elderly is not only a responsibility but also a privilege, as their stories, smiles, and resilience continue to inspire deeper service among those who walk alongside them.

At the heart of the event, one message resonated:

Romblon State University joins the celebration of the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸⚖️

As we commemorate the 77th year of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, with this year's theme, “𝑲𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒐: 𝑲𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒎𝒂 𝒔𝒂 𝑨𝒓𝒂𝒘-𝑨𝒓𝒂𝒘,” we highlight the importance of integrating human rights in our daily actions, decisions, and interactions. Every day is an opportunity to promote dignity, equality, and freedom for all.

Let us stand united in building a community where human rights are recognized, protected, and lived out in our everyday lives. 💙✨

As part of our observance of the 18-𝑫𝒂𝒚 𝑪𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒊𝒈𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝑬𝒏𝒅 𝑽𝒊𝒐𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝑨𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒕 𝑾𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏 with the theme, “United for a VAW-Free Philippines,” the RSU top officials, faculty, staff, and students gathered for a Ceremonial Pledge to End VAW. Through the pledge signing, our community reaffirmed its commitment to fostering respect, protection, and equality for all women and girls.

Together, 𝗪𝗲 𝗩𝗢𝗪 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗩𝗔𝗪! 🗣️

A VAW-free Philippines gives us the following signals for action:
𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗣 violence against women. Women’s rights are human rights.
𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 beyond silence. Do not judge a story you don’t fully know.
𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗡 with compassion. Put yourself in the shoes of victim-survivors, and champion their right to safety, dignity, and justice.
Ending VAW rests on all of us.

Let us rise as one, stand UNiTEd, and build a VAW-free Philippines!

RSU was represented by Ms. Carolyn D. Fetalver, GAD Director who attended on behalf of the University President Dr Merian P. Catajay-Mani and received an award in recognition of the university’s effort to the region’s population and development initiatives.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 proudly takes part in the Regional Gender and Development Committee (RGADC) MIMAROPA - PCW 𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒄 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒑, held on October 27–29, 2025, in Malate, Manila.

This workshop serves as an avenue to strengthen gender mainstreaming efforts and promote inclusive development across the MIMAROPA Region. ⚧💜

𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲, 𝐑𝐒𝐔𝐯𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬!

The Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and Services stands in solidarity with the global community in raising awareness for mental health. Today, we are reminded that by breaking stigma, showing compassion, and supporting one another, we can build a more caring, inclusive, and resilient RSU community.

This month, the RSU Guidance and Counseling Services Office has prepared activities that aim to promote mental health awareness, provide safe spaces for dialogue, and encourage students and employees to prioritize their well-being. Stay tuned for updates!

The activity underscored the importance of promoting gender sensitivity and inclusivity in schools, reflecting RSU’s strong commitment to advancing Gender and Development advocacy in the community.

On September 2–3, 2025, RSU GAD Director 𝐌𝐬. 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐲𝐧 𝐃. 𝐅𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐫, along with University Board Secretary, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐨 𝐏. 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐬 and Advocacy Officer, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐂𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐨 𝐀𝐦𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐨, attended the GFPS Convention at Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria, Quezon City.
