A productive farm visitation was conducted by the 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵, 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (VP REDI), the 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 (ESCEO) Director, and faculty members from the 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 (CET) to assess the farm of 𝗠𝘀. 𝗔𝗺𝗼𝗿 𝗗. 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮 in 𝗕𝗿𝗴𝘆. 𝗧𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘆, 𝗢𝗱𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻, 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗻 as a potential 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼-𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼) 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺.

The visit focused on evaluating the site’s suitability for showcasing agricultural technologies developed by 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 in partnership with the 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗢𝗱𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻. Discussions highlighted the roles and commitments outlined in the proposed 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, including technical supervision, financial support for trainings, and the establishment of the farm as a learning hub for farmers, students, and other stakeholders.

This initiative strengthens collaboration among the University, LGU, and the farm owner to promote sustainable agriculture, technology transfer, and community-based development. Through this partnership, Romblon State University continues to integrate research, innovation, and extension in empowering local communities and advancing agricultural productivity in Odiongan.

The Research, Extension, Development and Innovation (REDI) Office successfully conducted its "REDI to Talk" forum last February 18, 2026. The event brought together all REDI directors, heads, and staff, providing a collaborative platform for sharing office workflows, outlining goals, and exchanging important updates and information across the office's various units.

𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆, through the 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 (ESCEO), officially announces the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗜𝗻-𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 – 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴. This initiative reaffirms the University’s commitment to responsive, inclusive, and sustainable community engagement.

All faculty extensionists and project leaders are encouraged to submit proposals aligned with the 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆’𝘀 𝗙𝗢𝗖𝗨𝗦 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮: 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗚, covering the priority areas of Health, Heritage, Education, Agriculture, Livelihood, Leadership and Governance, Innovation and Technology Transfer, Natural Resources and Environment, and Gender and Development.

All submitted proposals, including completed and on-going extension projects, will be evaluated during the 2026 In-House Review. Through this call, RSU continues to strengthen its culture of meaningful engagement and service excellence in building empowered and resilient communities.

In loving memory of Dr. Julio Romeo T. Chavez, whose life was marked by steadfast service and genuine dedication to Romblon State University.

He spent many years faithfully serving RSU as Director for Research Publication, Director for Training, and Director for Production, helping strengthen the University’s academic and research foundations. He also led with vision as Managing Head of the Ecosystems Management Unit and devoted his heart to his home college as Dean of the College of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, where he mentored students and guided faculty with wisdom and humility.

In his remaining years at the University, he continued to serve quietly but significantly as Records Officer and Head of the University Policy Systems Office, ensuring that systems, policies, and institutional memory were upheld with care and integrity.

Dr. Chavez’s legacy is one of leadership, service, and commitment to excellence. His contributions will continue to shape RSU, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of working and learning with him.

May we honor his memory by carrying forward the dedication and compassion he so generously shared. Rest in peace, Dr. July.

A productive consultative meeting was conducted with the 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 (ESCEO) Director, faculty members of the 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘆 (CBA), and representatives from the 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝘂𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 units to discuss strategic directions for advancing social enterprise development.

The meeting highlighted the team’s initial implementation steps, conducting needs assessments, key informant interviews (KII), and focus group discussions (FGD) to ensure that proposed initiatives are community-driven, evidence-based, and responsive to local priorities.

This collaboration directly supports the 𝙏𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙠 𝙎𝙀: 𝘼𝙩𝙤 𝙆𝙖𝙡𝙞 𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢 of the Local Government Unit of Odiongan, which positions Odiongan as a model municipality for social entrepreneurship through inclusive, sustainable, and culturally rooted enterprises. Through this partnership, 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 strengthens its role in integrating instruction, research, innovation, and extension to empower communities and accelerate local economic transformation.

𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆, through its 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 (ESCEO), led by the ESCEO Director, conducted an exploratory meeting with 𝗦𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗩𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, represented by 𝗠𝗿. 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗮, Marketing Manager, and 𝗠𝘀. 𝗝𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝗔𝗻𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮, Welfare Manager, to discuss potential collaborations that will directly benefit the cooperative’s members.

The meeting focused on identifying priority extension initiatives such as capacity-building seminars, livelihood and skills training, financial literacy programs, and welfare and community support services. These efforts aim to empower cooperative members, strengthen organizational resilience, and promote sustainable social and economic development.

Guided by its mission of service, RSU continues to bridge the university and the community, transforming partnerships into meaningful actions that create real and lasting impact.

📩 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘

The Extension Program of 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 – 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 was successfully implemented under the leadership of 𝗗𝗿. 𝗥𝗲𝘅𝘆 𝗢𝘀𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗼 𝗠𝗼𝗹𝗼, Project Proponent of the extension initiative 𝙊𝙧𝙗𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙀𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙮: 𝙐𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙨 𝙖 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙃𝙪𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙚-𝘿𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥.

Held on 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, at the 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻, the program brought together Sangguniang Kabataan members, youth leaders, and barangay officials for a day of learning and leadership development. The event featured keynote talks and interactive workshops on ethical governance, effective administration, problem-solving, and empathy-driven leadership.

Implemented in partnership with the 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻, the 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, and the 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲, the initiative strengthened collaboration and community engagement, equipping participants with enhanced leadership competencies and a deeper commitment to responsive and compassionate public service.

Through Project Orbits of Empathy, Romblon State University continues to cultivate leaders who serve with integrity and create lasting, positive change in their communities.

STAARRDEC, in partnership with PAEPI Region IV-A, is set to conduct an 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗗 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗺 𝗢𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 (𝗖𝗠𝗢) 𝗡𝗼. 𝟭𝟴, 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, focusing on the revised 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘆 (𝗖𝗦𝗦) for extension projects of State Universities and Colleges (SUCs). The activity will be held on February 18, 2026 via Zoom Video Conference.

This orientation aims to strengthen policy awareness, clarify key provisions, and promote standardized, accountable, and results-based extension services across the region.

We encourage all STAARRDEC member SUCs to participate and be part of this collective effort to enhance the quality and impact of extension services—guided by policy and driven by excellence.
