𝐒𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐧 𝐍𝐇𝐒 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞

To ensure timely and organized preparation for the incoming school year, Saban National High School officially started the implementation of early school registration for S. Y. 2026-2027 following the directive of the Department of Education Schools Division of Albay.

In line with the Division Memorandum No. 035 s. 2026, the early registration at Saban NHS focuses on incoming grade 7 and grade 11 learners, as well as transferees, returning high school learners and ALS learners. The process helps the school gather accurate learner data to help the school prepare classrooms, teachers and learning resources ahead of the opening of classes.

Early registration will be conducted from the last Saturday of January to the last Friday of February, specifically starting today January 31 to February 28, 2026, with designated desks and authorized personnel assisting parents and learners.

Parents and learners are advised to coordinate with Mrs. Lea B. Bañares and Ms. Angelita Raquid, the school’s designated Early Registration In-Charge, for guidance and assistance.

Through this early registration initiative, Saban National High School reinforces its commitment to preparedness, efficient school management, and quality education for all learners in School Year 2026–2027.

𝗦𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗡𝗛𝗦 𝘁𝗼𝗽𝘀 2025 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗖𝗼𝗻
𝑏𝑦 𝐴𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑐𝑎 𝑅. 𝑆𝑎𝑦𝑠𝑜𝑛

Saban National High School proudly brought home the overall championship in the 2025 Oas North District Schools Press Conference on September 8, 2025, after its student-journalists won big in different writing and journalism contests.

The remarkable win proved the school’s strength in campus journalism, as students excelled in different categories both in English and Filipino. With the guidance of coaches, Mrs. Nida R. Rubios (English) and Mrs. Helen C. Trafalgar ( Filipino), Saban NHS stood out as the best in the secondary level in the district.

Among the major wins, Jazlyn Navarro shine in Editorial Writing (Filipino) with a 1st Place finish, Thryza Dion Rabe conquered Feature Writing (Filipino) landing 1st place, Angelica Sayson led News Writing (English), while Alexandra Mariñas dominated News Writing (Filipino), both securing championship in their categories.

The winning streak continued to Joan Mitch Rivera also triumphed in SciTech Writing (English) , Karen Rebueno topped Photojournalism (Filipino), and Ranie Acuña ruled Sports Writing (English) – all landing 1st place in their respective categories.

In addition, the other journalists who strengthened the school’s championship include Kyla Marie Redome (3rd place, Column Writing-English), Margie Magulod ( 2nd Place, Column Writing- Filipino), Carl Joshua Ranara (2nd SciTech Writing-Filipino), Elaiza Margarette Villanueva ( 2nd place, Copy Reading and Headline Writng-English), Clark Jade Calicdan ( 2nd place, Copy Reading and Headline Writing-Filipino), and Alexis James Valenzuela ( 3rd place, Sports Writing- Filipino).

Several more finished in the top, Joan Ricafrente ( 5th place, Editorial Writing-English), Gian Dave Matias ( 6th place, Feature Writing-English), Keisha Sacayan ( 4th place, Photojournalism- English) Josh Nielsen Rubios ( 5th place, Editorial Cartooning-English), and Samuel Peter Rivas (6th place, Editorial Cartooning-Filipino), proving their bravery in their chosen category.

With this victory, all winners are now set to compete in the Cluster Schools Press Conference this September, 2025.

This triumph would not have been possible without the steady leadership and support of our Principal Salvacion Raquid, PhD, whose guidance continues to inspire every SNHSians writers to aim higher and achieve more.

📌LOOK | The 𝑺𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒏 𝑵𝑯𝑺 𝑪𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒖𝒔 𝑱𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒎 held the 2-Day School Based Journalism Writeshop entitled, "𝐒𝐔𝐑𝐀𝐓: 𝙎𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙗𝙚’𝙨 𝙐𝙥𝙨𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙍𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘼𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜" spearheaded by the School Paper Advisers, Mrs. Nida R. Rubios and Mrs. Helen C. Trafalgar.

A training ground for all the student-participants who wanted to use their powerful 𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐒 to defend truth and uncover stories. On day 1, from learning the basics of writing to mastering the art of 𝑵𝒆𝒘𝒔 𝑾𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝑪𝒐𝒑𝒚 𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝑾𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 discussed by Ma'am Emma Ruth R. Bueno, Feagure Writing discussed by Ma'am Helen C. Trafalgar, 𝑷𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒋𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒎 discussed by Sir Jay N. Naz, and 𝑬𝒅𝒊𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒖𝒎𝒏 𝑾𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 discussed by Ma'am Nida R.
