On July 25th, 2023 the eFARM Academy team spearheaded by and Dr. Gella Patria L. Abella and ZWaP Resource Person Dr. Antonio J. Barroga introduced their website and their Learning Management System and the technologies offered by the eFARM Academy to Dr. Gupta where he enrolled a course on Sustainable and Efficient Animal Management Strategies.

LOOK | eFARM Academy and the Youmanitarian International selected beneficiary from Casiguran, Aurora, update us on the successful establishment of their mushroom growing house.

They recently received their start-up kit for mushroom technology from the CLSU Center for Tropical Mushroom Research and Development on January 19th of last month, as you may recall.

LOOK | Our beneficiary, Zen Tierras Farm from the Municipality of Dingalan, updates us on the progress of their Indoor Vertical Farming System (IVFS); on Saturday, the farm is expected to launch their FARM to TABLE samgeopsal.

We might recall that Zen Tierras Farm obtained the IVFS start-up kit in August of last year.

LOOK | eFARM Academy supports STETC-Coastal Z during its soft launching

eFARM Academy, represented by Dr. Gella Patria Abella and Dr. Celyrah Castillo, attends the soft launching of the Sustainable Technology Education Tourism Campus-Coastal Zambales (STETC-Coastal Z) project on January 19, 2023 at President Ramon Magsaysay State University (PRMSU), Iba, Zambales.

STETC-Coastal Z, a campus-based project developed by PRMSU in partnership with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), under the Study in the Philippines Program (StudyPh), envisions PRMSU as a proactive university in digital and global society. It seeks to maximize Zambales’ growing appeal as a study destination. It will also assist SUCs, Local Colleges, and tourism industries in the province and neighboring regions to engage in coastal-education tourism-related programs and projects.

Likewise, eFARM Academy is a project of Central Luzon State University (CLSU) in partnership with CHED under the StudyPh Program. Both projects support CHED’s initiative of positioning the Philippines as a regional and global education hub through the StudyPh Program.

Together with Dr. Abella and Dr. Castillo who also graced the event are Atty. Lily Freida Macabangun-Milla, CESO IV, CHED OIC Deputy Executive Director and Director III of International Affairs Staff; Dr. Leonida S. Calagui, Regional Director of CHED – Region III; Dr. Felipa M. Rico, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs – PRMSU and Project Leader of STETC-Coastal Z; Dr. Rhodora R. Jugo, Vice President for Academic Affairs of Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST); Dr. Nancy Joy M. Mangansat, Director of Curriculum Development and Evaluation – NEUST; and Dr. Jerry S. Cristobal, Vice President for Planning, Institutional Development, Quality Assurance and Good Governance – PRMSU.

LOOK | eFARM Beneficiary from Casiguran, Aurora picks up 1,000 mushroom fruiting bags from CLSU Center for Tropical Mushroom Research and Development

Subsequent with the partnership of the eFARM Academy and the Youmanitarian International (NGO), their selected beneficiary from Casiguran, Aurora visited the eFARM Academy and Center for Tropical Mushroom Research and Development (CTMRD) on January 19, 2022. Mr. Bismark E. Francisco, Science Research Assistant for the CTMRD together with the eFARM team assisted in the turnover of the start-up kit for the said technology to Mr. Bernard A. Marzan, eFARM Academy & Youmanitarian International beneficiary from Casiguran, Aurora. The start-up kit includes 1,000 mushroom fruiting bags, which they intended to incorporate to their Integrated Tour Farm which is now under evaluation by the ATI as Learning Sites for Agriculture in Central Luzon).

NEWS I SRC, eFARM Academy, Youmanitarian International conduct monitoring and mentoring of Goat Production Technology beneficiary in Casiguran, Aurora

On December 8, 2022, Mr. Neal A. Del Rosario, head of the Small Ruminant Center (SRC), Central Luzon State University, together with eFARM Academy Program Leader Gella Patria L. Abella, and Youmanitarian International Senior Executive Director Clarence Luther S. Bulandi, conducted a monitoring and mentoring of the beneficiary of the eFARM Academy for the goat production technology.

Mr. Del Rosario mentored Mr. Bernard Van A. Marzan (eFARM beneficiary) by discussing the proper way of goat feeding and feed supplementation. He also inspected the goat housing and the two bucks received by the beneficiary.

Mr. Del Rosario suggested that some of the areas owned by the beneficiary can be planted with goat feed as the latter is planning to increase the number of its goats. Plant seeds and seedlings best for goat feed were also given by the SRC.

NEWS | AWMU reps enroll in eFARM Academy

More than twenty (20) Animal Waste Management and Utilization for Manila Bay Clean-up (AWMU) participants visited the Institute for Climate Change and Environmental Managament (ICCEM) to enroll in eFARM Academy, November 24, 2022.

The International Training Center on Pig Husbandry, AWMU organizer, visited Central Luzon State University (CLSU) as part of its field immersion for the participants.

Dr. Gella Patria Abella, Program Leader, spearheaded the enrollment process in the eFARM Academy, ICCEM.

Dr. Antonio Barroga, eFARM Academy Resource Person, facilitated the lecture during the field tour.
