🎶 Birthday Trivia About Teacher Grace! 🎂

Did you know that music has been part of Teacher Grace’s life since childhood?

Teacher Grace started learning the piano at the age of 7. Her love for singing also began early, as she became involved with the Manila Baptist Church Choir during her high school years.

She later became part of The Heralds, a singing group that had the opportunity to travel and perform in different places around the Philippines.

And it seems that music truly runs in the family! Her mom sings in the choir, while her dad plays several wind instruments. On her father’s side, she also comes from a lineage of musicians who played the piano, violin, trumpet, and trombone.

Today, Teacher Grace continues that beautiful musical heritage by sharing her gifts with the next generation as a voice and piano teacher at Blossom Music Studio. 🌸

Some musical gifts show up when we least expect them!

Teacher Jonathan’s musical journey began in a rather unexpected way - during a bout of chickenpox in high school!

With plenty of time at home and nothing much to do, he picked up his guitar. He tried to remember what his church friend had taught him before and began practicing. Then, as he played, something clicked!

He discovered that he could figure out melodies on the guitar - tunes that his friend had never even taught him! That little discovery became the beginning of a lifelong musical journey.

From guitar, he learned to play the piano through chords and melodies. For a short time, he also joined a local marching band as a tuba player. Later, when he was working and could afford lessons, he studied piano under an excellent piano pedagogue.

But his love for music didn’t stop there! He continued exploring other instruments, including the recorder, violin, flute, saxophone, and trombone.

Today, Teacher Jonathan continues to share his love for music through music teaching and music ministry, serving as a music teacher and church pianist. 🎶

And today, we celebrate Teacher Jonathan!

We are so thankful for your life, your love for music, your dedication to teaching, and the way you continue to use your musical gifts to bless others.

IKA-38 CCP GAWAD PARA SA ALTERNATIBONG PELIKULA AT VIDEO

Now on its 38th year, the CCP Gawad Para sa Alternatibong Pelikula at Video, or Gawad Alternatibo, remains the longest-running independent film competition of its kind in Asia. The competition features four major categories: Animation, Experimental, Documentary, and Narrative. Special citations are also given to outstanding regional films and works on, for, and by children. The festival likewise presents curated exhibition sections, including Crosscurrents, which showcases exceptional films from this year's submissions.

Fun Musical Trivia About Teacher Blossom Joy 🌸

Did you know that Teacher Blossom’s very first musical instrument was actually the drums?

When she was in high school, she was extensively taught by the drummer of her church praise team. She eventually got to play the drums in a few church worship services.

She actually tried taking piano lessons in elementary school—but only had ONE session! As a child, she would simply copy and play the pieces that her older sister taught her. During high school, she continued learning piano on her own, mainly through self-studying piano chord charts.

Fortunately, her piano journey took a wonderful turn when she entered Harris Memorial College for her first college degree. There, she finally had formal piano lessons—and that’s where her love for piano and teaching piano began.

After five years of church work, she pursued music at the UP College of Music, further developing her skills and passion for music education.

Through her own experience, Teacher Blossom realized the importance of learning a musical instrument at a young age, as early lessons provide many years of formal training and practice. But her story also reminds us that it is never too late to start learning music, at any age.

And one more fun fact: Today is her birthday!

We are so happy and proud to present to you highlights from our recently concluded Summer Recital, held last June 21, 2026, at the UP College of Music Mini Hall. 🎶

Please enjoy watching our wonderful students as they share their talents, skills, and love for music. As their teachers, we can’t wait to see how they continue to grow and discover what they can become in the future, wherever their hearts and dreams may lead them.

A heartfelt thank you to UP College of Music for graciously providing such a wonderful venue for our recital.

We are also incredibly grateful to Reiward Photography for capturing these beautiful moments through photography, and to Ms. Pays Jurado for beautifully documenting the recital through video.

Above all, we give thanks to God for the gift of music, for our students, and for the opportunity to nurture their talents.

Sharing some of our favorite moments from our recently concluded 2026 Summer Recital, held last June 21 at the UP College of Music Mini Hall. ❤️

We are incredibly proud of every student and all that they have accomplished. Their hard work, dedication, and perseverance truly shone on stage, making every practice and every challenge worthwhile.

Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make this recital a truly memorable experience:

To the wonderful team at the UP College of Music Mini Hall, especially Mang Boy, for all the assistance. It was such a blessing to return to this venue after 11 years since our last recital there.
