In a determined display of cooperation and community spirit, parents of Lapuz National High School’s delegates to this year’s Division Festival of Talents (DFOT): Bayle Sa Kalye convened today, December 10, 2025, for a technical meeting focused on the finalization of logistics and performance preparations. The gathering, held at the school’s gym, aimed to align all stakeholders ahead of the competition scheduled on December 12–14 in the Municipality of Tantangan, South Cotabato.

The meeting, spearheaded by the school principal Sir Leo D. Borra, covered crucial operational components such as costume readiness, transportation arrangements, sequence flow of the street-dance routine, and safety protocols mandated by the Schools Division of South Cotabato. Parents were briefed on the updated performance mechanics, including route orientation, timing precision, and compliance with the 2025 Bayle Sa Kalye adjudication standards that emphasize choreography quality, thematic storytelling, synchronization, and cultural integrity.

According to the committee, the delegation has been undergoing intensive technical rehearsals over the past weeks to meet the competition’s elevated criteria. Trainers also highlighted the importance of endurance conditioning and performance discipline, key elements in a street-dancing event where stamina and cohesion significantly influence overall scoring.

Parents expressed strong support for the dancers, acknowledging the rigorous preparation and the logistical demands required for a competition of this scale. They also committed to assisting in costume maintenance, hydration stations, and moral support during the three-day festival. “We want to ensure that our children perform safely and confidently. Their dedication deserves our full cooperation,” one parent shared during the open forum.

This year’s victory is one for the books. With a reputation so strong and a performance legacy so commanding, no school dared to compete against Lapuz NHS, a testament to the dominance they have established in municipal competitions. Even before the drums rolled and the streets opened for dance, Lapuz NHS was already declared the official Bayle sa Kalye representative of the Municipality of Norala for the Division Festival of Talents 2025, to be hosted in Tantangan, South Cotabato.

At the heart of this four-year winning streak is the school’s driving force Sir Norsil John P. Hilaga, the coach, choreographer, and artistic director who has shaped these young dancers into champions. His creativity, vision, and discipline have consistently brought out the best in every performer, molding not just dancers but confident ambassadors of culture and artistry.

Behind every remarkable performance are people whose guidance and support make triumph possible. Assistant coaches and advisers Mrs. Merilyn D. Lama and Mrs. Melody C. Paba have worked tirelessly to ensure that the team is prepared, polished, and purposeful. Their collective leadership formed a powerhouse of talent, creativity, and commitment, one that continues to bring honor to the Lapuzinian community.

At the center of this triumph is Robert John A. Guavez, a student no stranger to the spotlight. As Mr. Lapuz NHS 2024 and the reigning Ginoong Kamayadan 2025 1st Runner-Up, Robert has long been recognized for his poise and charisma. What set this win apart, however, was his renewed drive, a desire to prove, not to others, but to himself, that excellence is his advantage. Those who witnessed his performance described it as equal parts fierce and inspiring: a delivery shaped by passion, discipline, and the quiet fire of a young man determined to rise.

Behind Robert’s victory are mentors who tirelessly refined his craft. Mr. Eric Batiancilla, his coach, provided steady guidance throughout preparation, while Mr. Norsil John P. Hilaga, his academic coach and speech trainer, honed his speaking skills and bolstered his confidence. Together, they cultivated the mindset of a champion.
