The Montfort Technical Institute is located in Poblacion, New Washington, Aklan,Philippines and administered by the Montfort Brothers of St. Their main charism is education both vocational as well as academic, especially of the less privileged and weaker section of society. As a catholic educational institution, it is committed to the task of facilitating the integral formation of the youth. In th

e last two decades or so, they have extended their services to cover slum dwellers, street children, tribal welfare, community organization, etc., in keeping the needs of the time and place. The Brothers are present in over 36 countries spread across the global and all the continents. In Asia, the Brothers render their services in India, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines. In the Philippines which come under the administrative control of the Province of Trichy, India, the Brothers have pitched their tent in the province of Aklan, New Washington, some 10 kilometers away from Kalibo, the capital of the province. Today the school has 4 departments Pre-School, Elementary,High School and College.Here, the plan is for a comprehensive program of human and economic development. We have used the facilities and personnel for a community building program for youth and adult men and women, livelihood training for the adult unemployed, along with other out-reach programs, joining hands with other Religious Congregations in the locality and the local Church. The people of locality are highly enthusiastic of the Brothers starting what they expect will be an outlet for their semi-educated out of school youth, to once again pick up the thread of learning and employment opportunities. INTERESTINGLY, THE BROTHERS ARE THE FIRST RELIGIOUS CONGREGATION OF MEN IN THE WHOLE DIOCESE OF KALIBO.
