New Corella National High School conducted a psychological support session for junior and senior high school educators on September 23, 2026, at the NCNHS Mini Gym following teacher-directed public safety threats posted on Facebook that resulted in student panic and suspension of classes.

During the session, Torsino reminded subject teachers and class advisers of their mandated accountability to monitor and assist students during emergencies, while PMAJ David S. Ybalio Jr., Acting Chief of Police, and PMAJ Dennis C. Olayan, Deputy Chief of Police, reported that authorities continued their investigation and had a lead on the suspected threat-maker.

Meanwhile, School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Bryan Benegian shared how his team monitored CCTV footage and roamed the campus for possible threats, whereas municipal Nurse II Liza Manubag explained the Psychological First Aid (PFA) color-coded triage system to identify those coping well, those needing support, and those requiring immediate psychological assistance.

As the session continued, Social Welfare Assistant I Aljon M. Daray announced upcoming PFA training for selected teachers, followed by Assistant Municipal Health Officer Julius Cloyd A. Jala’s discussion on managing panic attacks; afterward, PSDS Janice Fernandez urged participants needing assistance to seek help.

The stress debriefing helped teachers and school personnel process emotional responses, receive coping guidance, and learn more ways to support themselves and manage students.

New Corella National High School (NCNHS) held its In-Service Training (INSET) at the NCNHS Gym, focusing on teachers’ professional growth and effective classroom practices.

Mary Jane Butlig, Head Teacher III, emphasized, “Quality education begins with competent, committed, and empowered teachers,” highlighting the value of the training.

Richard Balo, ICT Coordinator, led the session on ICT and AI-Supported Teaching, featuring Plickers, Spin the Wheel, and Crossword Puzzle.

Meanwhile, Ricky Joy Guboc, Head Teacher III, discussed Work-Life Balance, encouraging teachers to balance their professional duties and personal well-being.

The sessions provided teachers with practical insights and strategies they can apply in their classrooms while promoting a healthier and more productive work life.

To strengthen professional development among teaching and non-teaching personnel, newly installed Principal IV Ramil M. Torsino led the First General Faculty Meeting of New Corella National High School, focusing on professional development, CPD units, class loads, and the Aral Program at the NCNHS Mini Gym on August 10, 2026.

During the meeting, Mr. Torsino stressed the professional development activities to be crafted by each department, the target program owners, and the five-month Learning Action Cell (LAC), while Ms. Karen Grace S. Manaay, Master Teacher II in Science, discussed the implementation of the PD-LAC.

Meanwhile, faculty members raised concerns about class loads and the Aral Program as school personnel reviewed measures for implementing professional development activities throughout the school year.

Around 154 teaching and non-teaching personnel attended the meeting as the school administrators presented the programs and addressed concerns related to their implementation.

𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚’𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐚
What began as a dream on the courts of New Corella National High School has grown into a journey of hard work, grit, and steady progress for Gwyneth Zoe Peje, a proud resident of Sta. Cruz, New Corella, and one of the town's most promising young athletes.
Back in New Corella National High School, she emerged as a reliable player for the school’s 3x3 girls’ basketball team. In 2024, she helped lead the squad to a DAVRAA Meet qualification, a breakthrough that put both the team and the young athlete in the spotlight. What began as regional school competition soon opened bigger doors, eventually earning her a spot in the FEU Lady Tamaraws team.
Her strong performances on the court caught the attention of scouts from Far Eastern University, earning her a spot on the FEU Lady Tamaraws. After graduating from New Corella National High School in the 2023–2024 school year, she moved to Manila to continue her Senior High School education at FEU while pursuing her dream of playing competitive basketball. Balancing school and sports was a challenge, but she embraced the opportunity to grow both as a student and an athlete.
On June 1, 2026, she proudly completed her Senior High School studies at FEU, marking another milestone in a journey defined by discipline and excellence.
Her success soon reached beyond school competitions. Representing the FIL-Euro Team, she competed along talented Filipino against athletes from different countries earning the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for her outstanding performance. Not long after, she joined the FIL-Australia Team and helped lead the squad to a championship title on April 12, further proving her ability to excel on the international stage.
Her achievements earned her a spot in the Batang Gilas program and a place in the Gilas Pilipinas U18 Women’s Team. She represented the Philippines in the FIBA U18 SEABA Cup in Bacolod City, where she helped the team win the championship against strong opponents from Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia, bringing pride to the country.
She added another milestone to her growing basketball career after being invited to the Batang Gilas Nike All-Asia Camp held in Beijing, China from June 9 to 15, 2026. The camp brought together top young players from across Asia for high-level training and international competition exposure.
Looking ahead, the young athlete is set to represent the Philippines once again in the upcoming FIBA U18 Women’s Asia Cup scheduled in Malaysia this October. Before that, basketball fans can look forward to seeing her showcase her skills in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) this September as she suits up for the FEU Lady Tamaraws.
From the courts of New Corella National High School to international arenas across Asia, her story continues to inspire aspiring athletes who dream of turning passion into achievement. As she prepares for the next chapter of her career, the entire New Corella community proudly cheers for one of its brightest sporting ambassadors.

Incoming Grade 7 students who have achieved a general average of 90 or higher will undergo an admission assessment for placement in the first section.

To participate, please submit the following requirements:

•Photocopy of PSA Birth Certificate
•Photocopy of SF9 (Report Card)

Submissions must be made at the Guidance Office from April 13, 2026 to May 29, 2026, between 7:30 AM and 4:00 PM. Please look for Ma’am Marivic Abaa, Guidance Counselor, for assistance.

The Admission Screening Test will be held on June 2, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, at Grade 7 Zinnia and Gladiola classrooms.

Students are required to bring their own pen and correction tape.

Important: Students who fail to comply with these instructions will not be accommodated during the scheduled admission testing.
