Athenian Journos Earn Notable Awards at Regional Schools Press Conference 2026

As the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) 2026 concludes today, March 14, hosted by SDO - Las Piñas, La Athena journalism team has once again proven their excellence, securing significant awards. Carrying this year's theme, "Truth in the digital age: Empowering Students' Voices through Responsible Journalism," the Athenian delegates stood out among the region's top student journalists.

🎙️ Radio Broadcasting Triumphs

Building on the momentum of their stellar 2nd place overall finish in the region last year, La Athena Filipino Radio Broadcasting team continued their winning streak by securing 5th place in Best Script against 16 competing divisions.

📰 A Historic Milestone for La Athena Vanguard

The team also celebrates a major milestone: the first-ever regional win for the school’s newspaper, La Athena Vanguard. Competing against more than 160 other publications, the paper clinched 8th place in Layout and Page Design, a remarkable achievement for its debut placement at the regional level.

Furthermore, the school celebrates the participation of Megan Louisse Flaviano, who represented La Athena as an NCR qualifier in Pagsulat ng Kolum. While she did not secure a podium finish, reaching the regional level of competition remains a hallmark achievement that highlights the depth of journalistic talent nurtured within our school.

Athenian swimmers make waves in NCR Palaro; Marck Daniel Rayos Wins Bronze

Athenian swimmers proudly represented our school in the NCR Palaro Swimming Competition 2026. In the Elementary Girls category, Lara Lourine Benaid and Kalipay Cadence Abia, and in the Elementary Boys category, Geoff Galvin Rivera showcased their skills and sportsmanship during the competition.

Highlighting the event, Marck Daniel Rayos earned a Bronze Medal in the 200-meter Freestyle, bringing pride to the Athenian community. The participation of all swimmers reflects their dedication, teamwork, and passion for the sport.

LADNA Filipino Radio Broadcasters earn podium finish in DSPC 2025; securing spot for the regionals

La Athena once again proved its excellence in campus journalism as its Filipino Radio Broadcasting Team emerged victorious in the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) held on December 1, 2025. The team captured Overall Production – 1st Place, securing their spot as regional qualifiers and marking their achievement as DSPC champions for three consecutive years.

Continuing their winning streak, the team also swept key special awards, earning Best Script (1st Place) and Best Infomercial (1st Place)—a reflection of their outstanding creativity, coordination, and mastery in broadcast production.

After competing in the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) last November 29, 2025, selected athenian journalists were recognized today during the awarding ceremony at Northbay Boulevard North Elementary School.

Leading the roster of winners is Megan Flaviano, who earned 1st Place in Pagsulat ng Kolum, securing her spot as an official Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) qualifier.

LADNA Athletes Shine in NCR Meet Qualifiers

La Athena de Navotas Academy clinched another big win as several pupils qualified for the NCR Meet after showing outstanding performances in different sports.

In Swimming Elementary Boys, Marck Daniel B. Rayos dominated with 5 gold medals, while Geoff Gavin E. Rivera earned a silver and bronze. For the girls, Lara Lourine C. Benaid won gold and silver, and Kalipay Cadence M. Abia added a silver in the 50m butterfly.

In Badminton, Ryevernille Matthew B. Laurenciana took silver in singles, and Samuel S. Ramil and Alfred Wong won bronze in doubles.

In Chess, Miguel T. Villar finished 5th place.

These achievements show the dedication and talent of LADNA athletes as they prepare for the NCR Meet.
