Today being World Migratory Bird Day 2025, we feature one of the migrants recently seen in Tanza - a Medium Egret (formerly called Intermediate Egret) that has caught an eel for breakfast!

Hindi wasteland ang mudflats. Di rin naman puwede na puro mangrove na lang. May silbi ang wetlands at buhay ng bawat Pilipino apektado sa pagkawala nila dahil tinatabunan at tinatayuan na kung ano ano. Makinig sa mga eksperto hindi yung nagmamarunong dahil sa ganid.
(Mudlflats are not wasteland. And you can't have just all mangroves. Wetlands serve a purpose and affect the lives of every Filipino. They are not useless landforms that need to be developed by building structures on them. Listen to the experts and stop being blinded by greed resulting in excuses and rationalizations.)
Navotas wetlands: Pollution, reclamation threaten ‘nature’s kidneys’ The mudflats in Navotas City are not exactly a tourist-y spot, but rare migratory birds love it. It also helps maintain water and air quality in the area.

May mga birders na nangangarap na makita itong ibon sa wetlands ng Tanza, Navotas. Dahil maliit ang pagasang mangyari ito, minsan ang usapan ay nauuwi na lamang sa lokohan.
Isang rare Spoon-billed Sandpiper ang bumisita sa wetlands ng Balanga, Bataan. Sapat na ito upang magdiwang ang buong bansa natin. Malay natin balang araw magpunta naman ng Tanza!
Sa mga walang hilig sa ibon, tignan nyo na lang kung ano ang ginagawa ng wetlands para sa tao. Hindi ito walang kwentang putikan na dapat tabunan at tayuan ng mall, resort o bahay. Hindi rin ito tambakan ng basura.
