The School of Arts and Sciences invites all students to Pakighimamat 2026: Annual General Convocation on August 18, 2026 (Tuesday), from 8:00 AM to 12:00 NN at the BiPSU Gymnasium.

Derived from the Waray word meaning "gathering" or "coming together," Pakighimamat 2026 aims to welcome incoming students, reorient continuing and graduating students, and strengthen our shared understanding of the University’s mission, vision, core values, policies, and support services.

With this year’s theme, "One SAS: Anchored in Values, Guided by Policies, Prepared for the Future," let us come together as one SAS family as we build a meaningful, informed, and values-driven university journey.

Parents and guardians of 1st Year and 4th Year students are especially encouraged to attend. Your presence strengthens the partnership between the University and families in supporting our students’ holistic development. Important matters on university policies, student support services, OJT/practicum requirements, and scholarship compliance will also be discussed.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞! | 𝐀 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲, 𝐀 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠!

The Department of Communication officially welcomed A.Y. 2026–2027 through its first General Assembly held on August 11 at the Student Center. The gathering brought together students and faculty for a fresh start, new connections, and exciting opportunities ahead.

As the new academic year begins, the Communication Arts Guild also welcomed its newly elected officers led by CAG President Jackylou Astorga, and the General Secretary, Crizia Ann Calumpit, who are ready to serve, lead, and create more opportunities for our COMMrades.

To complete the new set of officers of the Communication Arts Guild (CAG), Jiro Fallore, Shaine Prollo, Miguel Corpin, Hermione Robaro, Kevin Villasan, and Marissa Daño were elected as Vice Presidents for External Affairs, Journalism, Multimedia, Performing Arts, Finance, and Membership, respectively.

Marinel Antonio, Liza Flores, Rio Manahon, and Ogie Paje were elected as the first-, second-, third-, and fourth-year representatives.

A new chapter begins, but the commitment remains the same—to serve, grow, and continue carrying the spirit of the COMMunity. Here’s to another fruitful year, COMMrades!

CAG GENERAL ASSEMBLY — NEW SCHEDULE

The Communication Arts Guild sincerely apologizes for the postponement of the CAG General Assembly, originally scheduled for August 5, due to an unforeseen venue conflict.

We are pleased to announce that the General Assembly will push through on Tuesday morning, August 11, 2026.

The Assembly will be an opportunity for all Communication students to reflect on our accomplishments, receive important organization updates, and participate in the elections for our next term of student leaders.

As the new academic year begins, the Bachelor of Arts in Communication at Biliran Province State University continues its commitment to developing competent, creative, and socially responsible communicators.

The program is designed to cultivate creative, critical, and socially responsible professionals through immersive learning experiences in journalism, broadcasting, multimedia production, public relations, filmmaking, and strategic communication. Students are encouraged to develop their voice, refine their craft, and create stories that inform, inspire, and make an impact.

Here's a glimpse of what you can expect as you begin your journey in BA Communication.
