A SUCCESSFUL INTERNATIONAL WEBINAR: PREPARING OUR STUDENTS FOR GLOBAL EXPOSURE

The School of Technology and Computer Studies successfully conducted its International Webinar on International Immersion: Developing Global Perspectives Through International Academic and Professional Exposure today, August 19, 2026.

The webinar was organized as part of our commitment to providing students with meaningful international immersion experiences, allowing them to gain exposure to international academic and professional practices, interact with individuals from different cultural and educational backgrounds, and develop a broader understanding of the global computing industry.

The activity featured an insightful discussion on Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing, delivered by Dr. Nguyen Ha Huy Cuong of the Software Development Center, University of Da Nang, Vietnam.

The program was further enriched by the Sharing of International Academic and Professional Experiences, an engaging Interactive Question-and-Answer Session, and the students' Reflection and Learning Synthesis.

Through this international engagement, our students were given an opportunity to look beyond the classroom and experience learning from a global perspective. More importantly, the activity serves as a meaningful step toward their international immersion, preparing them for future academic, professional, and cultural experiences in an increasingly interconnected world.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our university administrators, faculty members, facilitators, students, resource speakers, and all individuals who contributed to the successful conduct of this meaningful international activity.

ADVANCING QUALITY INSTRUCTION THROUGH CURRICULUM ALIGNMENT

The School of Technology and Computer Studies continues to strengthen its commitment to quality instruction and continuous faculty development.

On August 18, 2026, STCS faculty members participated in the Orientation on the Use of the New Course Syllabus Template.
The activity was led by Dr. Erwin G. Salvatierra, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Lifelong Learning, together with Dr. Robert Jordan, Director of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Office.

The orientation provided faculty members with important guidance on the proper and effective use of the new course syllabus template, particularly in ensuring stronger course planning, curriculum alignment, instructional delivery, assessment, and quality assurance.

With the guidance of our academic leaders and the active engagement of the STCS faculty, the School continues to embrace initiatives that promote consistency, responsiveness, continuous improvement, and academic excellence.

Under the leadership of Dr. Jinky M. Macabago, STCS remains committed to ensuring that every course is thoughtfully planned, purposefully delivered, and meaningfully aligned with the learning needs of our students.

STCS PREPARES: Guiding Our Teknoys Toward Successful Academic Milestones!

Anchored in its commitment to academic excellence, STCS conducted the Students’ and Parents’ Orientation on Off-Campus Requirements for Thesis/Capstone Projects and Internship on August 14, 2026.

The orientation brought together students, parents, and guardians to provide essential information and guidance on the requirements, responsibilities, and expectations related to thesis/capstone projects and internship—important milestones that prepare our Teknoys for professional practice beyond the classroom.

Through this initiative, STCS ensures that students and their families are not only informed but also well-prepared, guided, and supported as they take on these significant academic and professional experiences.

Because every milestone becomes more meaningful when we prepare for it together. 💙

Two Computer Laboratory Technician positions are now open under Contract of Service (COS) at Biliran Province State University.

For IT professionals wanting to use their technical skills, this could be a chance to take on a role that keeps classrooms, laboratories, and technology running well.

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT, CS, IS, CompE, or any related field
• At least 1 year of experience in computer systems and network monitoring and maintenance
• TESDA NC II – Computer Systems Servicing (CSS) holder
