Congratulations to the top ten products of the product prototype competition of this year's Leveraging Agri-Aquacultural Materials through Innovation (LAMI).

On the second level, the schools will have to have to produce a research paper out of the products they have made. In no particular order, these are the products that will proceed:

The Food Research and Development Center of BiPSU welcomed Regional Director Celerina T. Bato along with DTI-8 team for their Shared-Service Facility (SSF) Site visit last July 7, 2023. The team toured around the center and was introduced to the services that the center offered. The FRDC offers a variety of services for different MSMEs all over Biliran, from sticker printing to coffee grinding.

The orientation for this year's Leveraging Agriculture and Materials for Innovation (LAMI) competition was conducted last June 29, 2023, it was attended by coaches and students that represented different schools.

This orientation was spearheaded by Sir Marclin Aguilar, the director of FRDC, by enumerating the different activities as well as the mechanics for each of them. After the orientation, the attendees had time for brainstorming for different food products that they might make for the competition.

A welcome, DOST-NRCP!

Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) is pleased to welcome the officials from the Department of Science and Technology-National Research Council of the Philippines (DOST-NRCP) as they visit for the project monitoring and inauguration of the newly installed Microbiology Laboratory, which is one of the deliverables of the project entitled, “Selected Foodborne Contaminants and Shelf-life of Eastern Visayas (EV) Street-vended Native Crop-based Delicacies: Determining Consumer’s Willingness To Pay (WTP) for Food Safety Attributes,” funded through the DOST-NRCP Grants-In-Aid (GIA) Program.

The DOST-NRCP team is composed of Mr. Marfy H. Lita, Project Development Officer NRCP-RD Lead Program; Ms. Eunice M. Aaron, Science Research Specialist NRCP-Research and Development Management Division; and Ms. Khareen N. Castellano, NRCP Clerk IV. They are joined by Prof. Marieta B. Sumagaysay, Professor at the University of the Philippines Visayas Tacloban College (UPVTC) and former NRCP Executive Director; and Prof. Floirendo P. Flores, Project RD Leader.

BiPSU is grateful to DOST-NRCP through its Executive Director, Dr. Bernardo N. Sepeda, for their invaluable support to this endeavor.
