LOES, August 21โ€“22, 2026 โ€” The spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and friendly competition filled LOES as learners enthusiastically participated in the School Meet 2026, held on August 21โ€“22, 2026. The two-day event served as an important venue for the selection and preparation of promising young athletes for the upcoming Municipal Meet this September.

The School Meet brought together learners who eagerly showcased their skills, determination, and passion in various sporting activities. Teachers, school personnel, and supporters worked hand in hand to ensure the successful conduct of the activities and to prepare the selected athletes for the challenges of the upcoming Municipal Meet.

The school also extends its sincere and heartfelt gratitude to all the generous donors who provided snacks for the learners, helping keep them energized throughout the event. Special thanks are likewise given to the individuals who willingly shared their time and effort in preparing and improving the playing grounds.

The school also expresses its deepest appreciation to all those who helped before, during, and after the School Meet. Every act of kindness, every helping hand, and every contributionโ€”big or smallโ€”meant so much to the school community and to the learners.

Layog-Ogtong Elementary School joyfully celebrated Nutrition Month with a series of engaging activities that highlighted the importance of eating healthy foods. The event was spearheaded by the dedicated teachers under the School Head Geny Fiangrayan, together with the enthusiastic learners.

The celebration featured lively dance performances, creative coloring activities, and the Nutri-Baon packs of learners. These activities not only entertained but also instilled lessons on health and wellness.

A key highlight was the lecture of Nurse Fidela Nayassang on the 10 Kumainments โ€” the Department of Healthโ€™s guidelines for proper nutrition. These include practical reminders such as eating a variety of foods, drinking plenty of water, limiting junk food, and practicing food safety. The learners were encouraged to apply these commandments in their daily lives to ensure strong bodies and sharp minds.

Meanwhile, Maโ€™am Melenia Oyang-o shared an insightful discussion on the Pinggang Pinoy or โ€œHealthy Plate,โ€ a visual food guide that shows the right proportion of go, grow, and glow foods. Learners discovered how balancing rice, vegetables, fruits, and protein in every meal can help them grow healthier and more energetic.

The celebration emphasized that healthy eating is essential for childrenโ€™s growth, learning, and overall well-being. By choosing nutritious foods over processed snacks, learners can build stronger immune systems, improve concentration in class, and develop lifelong healthy habits.

July 23, 2026- LOES held a heartfelt Turnover Ceremony today, headed by the school head Maโ€™am Geny Fiangrayan, marking a meaningful transition among its teaching staff.
The program opened with an inspirational prayer, setting a solemn tone for the occasion. This was followed by a moving tribute video presentation dedicated to Maโ€™am Conchita Latogan, whose years of service at LOES have been defined by compassion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to learners. Teachers then shared a heartfelt message, expressing gratitude for her guidance and the lasting impact she has made in the school community.

The ceremony formally recognized Maโ€™am Conchita Latogan as the outgoing teacher, who will now be home-based in Tonglayan.
