Despite the cool, cloudy morning of March 13, 2026, the atmosphere at Banawel National High School (BNHS) was warm and lively as students and faculty celebrated Career Guidance Day.
Guided by the theme โCareer Clarity and Mental Resilience: A Balanced Approach for a Better Future,โ the event aimed to help students explore their future paths with confidence and determination.
The program was attended by various guests from different professions including agriculturist, law enforcement officers, healthcare worker, and educators.
Public Schools District Supervisor (PSDS) Rovelyn Beralas attended the event giving inspiring message, urging students to pair their ambitions with meticulous planning and self-belief.
The highlight of the morning was the "Career Modeling," where learners from Grades 7 to 10 took to the stage wearing the uniforms of their dream professions. The stage saw a sea of future soldiers, flight attendants, architects, CEOs, farmers and medical professionals. From aspiring veterinarians and midwives to journalists and IT experts, the students didn't just wear the clothesโthey delivered short, spirited speeches about why they chose their respective paths.
One of the guests, Arnold Timmangao, an agriculturist, reminded the youth of the vital role farming plays in the nation's survival. "Agriculture is the backbone of our country," he noted, encouraging students to consider careers in the field to ensure food security for the next generation.
Law enforcement was also represented by PLT Bryane Bacwaden, who emphasized that character is just as important as skill. "Nothing is impossible if we do our best; God will take care of the rest," Bacwaden told the students, highlighting hard work and faith as the keys to success.
In a touching segment, traditional weaver Leticia Insong showcased the tools of her craft, reminding students that their roots are a source of strength. She shared a powerful message on resilience, noting that poverty is never a barrier for those with a determined heart and a supportive community.
Adding a healthcare perspective, nurse Ofelia Mae Magranga advised students to choose careers that align with their personal values. She noted that professional success is most fulfilling when it is fueled by genuine passion. Similarly, Pharmacist Victorina Bumanghat shared her professional experiences and taught students how to differentiate between various types of medications.
Additionally, Municipal Councilor Bonbon Bacwadang emphasized the transformative power of education, urging students to persevere until they reach their dreams.
The event concluded with an awards ceremony recognizing the most creative and convincing presentations. Special awards for Best in Career Outfit and Career Model of the Year were handed out to standout students from each grade level.
As the day ended with a celebratory group photo, it was clear that Career Guidance 2026 was more than just a school requirementโit was a definitive step toward empowering the youth of Banawel to dream big and prepare for a brighter tomorrow.
