Set A -words 3rd grade must know.
Make your 3rd grader learn atleast 3 words per day. Then on weekends, create a mini-quiz for all those words that they have learned for the week.
absorb- to suck up or drink in (a liquid); soak up
accuse - to find fault with; blame.
act - the process of doing.
active- in motion
actual - real, current status, existing.
adopt - to accept, to take and rear as one's own child.
advantage - superiority, favorable situation, benefit, gain, profit.
advice- opinion or recommendation
ambition - dream, earnest desire
ancient- in time long past, very old.
approach- to come near or nearer,
arrange- in proper order.
arctic - relating to. located at or near the North Pole.
attitude- behavior, manner, disposition.
attract- to make something closer, to draw by a physical force causing to approach, adhere, or unite; pull (opposed to repel):
average--a typical amount, rate, degree, etc.; norm.
avoid - to keep away from, to prevent from happening.
