Mas mabuti nang tayo ang magdesisyon ngayon, kaysa ang sakit ang magdesisyon para sa atin balang araw.

Sa mga rounds ko nitong mga nakaraang araw, may realization akong tumatak sa akin.

Hindi to body shaming pls lang. tungkol to sa pattern na paulit ulit kong nakikita bilang doktor sa mga patients ko.

Marami sa mga pasyente ko na may hypertension, diabetes, fatty liver, gout, sleep apnea, at heart disease ay nagsimula sa iisang common denominator, progressive weight gain over the years.

Kapag sinasabi kong ipri prioritize ko ang weight management, hindi ibig sabihin na iyon lang ang nakikita ko sa pasyente. Ibig sabihin noon, gusto kong putulin ang ugat ng problema habang maaga pa. Mas madaling mag adjust ng lifestyle ngayon kaysa mag dialysis, ma stroke, o mag maintenance ng maraming gamot habambuhay.

Ngayon mas malinaw na sakin ang vision ni Coach Cho Limna itransform ang mga Filipinos. Gusto kong makatulong mag transform din ng 100000 Filipinos. Hindi para maging payat lang. Kundi para maging healthy sila. Para hindi na sila ma admit dahil sa komplikasyon na sana naiwasan. Para mas mahaba ang oras nila kasama ang pamilya nila...

Pero bilang doktor, hindi ko rin puwedeng balewalain ang katotohanan na ang excess body fat ay linked sa insulin resistance, chronic inflammation, endothelial dysfunction, at atherosclerosis. Iyon ang pathophysiology na araw araw kong nakikita sa ward.

Kaya kung magiging doktor nyo ako, sasabihin ko ito nang diretso pero may malasakit: unahin natin ang ugat. Hindi para mapahiya ka. Kundi para maprotektahan ka. Sasabihin ko sayo kung overweight ka or obese...

At kung handa ka, sasamahan kita.

Isa isa lang sa mga magiging patients ko.. Hanggang umabot tayo sa 100,000 na Pilipinong mas malusog, mas may lakas, at mas may kontrol sa kalusugan nila.πŸ’•
