NAGUILIAN NATIONAL HIGHSCHOOL
COGON grass is native to East Africa and Asia. Besides, it tends to dominate in abandoned and hollow regions. It grows all around and year-round in the Philippines and is known for its massive spread over large areas. This specie is traditionally used as roofing and walling material, notably in the construction of traditional low-cost houses like BAHAY KUBO. This house is not only symbolic among us, Filipinos; it is even closely associated to the manger where our LORD JESUS CHRIST was born.
COGON symbolizes humility, simplicity, and beauty; these values are evident Filipino culture specially during Christmas season.
Thank you PMPC for making NAGUILIAN a nice place to live inโฆ MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ONE AND ALL!
