RESEARCH IN ACTION: TURNING SCHOOL CONCERNS INTO SOLUTIONS
Today, Ma’am Gladys M. Samia and Dr. Elymar A. Pascual formally submitted their action research proposals to School Principal ERENE SJ. PANOPIO EdD, Principal III, of Talangan Integrated National High School.
The proposals include “From Queue to Class: Evaluating the Impact of a School Canteen Pre-Order Service on Academic Performance among Senior High School Students,” which examines whether a pre-order system can reduce waiting time and provide learners with more time for learning and rest; “Egg of Responsibility Challenge: A Three-Phase Intervention for Developing Sense of Responsibility and Improving Learners’ Academic Performance,” which explores an experiential intervention designed to develop learners’ sense of responsibility and ultimately affect their academic performance; and “A Longitudinal Analysis of Grade 11 and Grade 12 Numeracy Performance: Basis for a School-Based Numeracy Enhancement Program,” authored by Dr. Elymar A. Pascual and Dr. Erene SJ. Panopio, which analyzes the numeracy performance of the same cohort from Grade 11 to Grade 12 using RMA and LINK Test results as a basis for a school-based numeracy enhancement program.
These initiatives form part of Project INQUIRY, a school-based research initiative started two years ago by Dr. Pascual to assist teachers and learners in developing research that responds to real school and community needs.
This is only the beginning, as more research proposals are expected to be submitted in the coming weeks, further strengthening the culture of inquiry, innovation, and evidence-based practice at TINHS.
Research that begins with questions can lead to solutions that make a difference.
