DES CHERCHEURS IN ACTION: REACHING MORE CLASSROOMS, SHAPING YOUNG MINDS

The school-based dissemination campaign of Des Chercheurs continues to gain momentum as the student-researchers have successfully entered eight sections: Grade 9 – Banahaw, Apo, Iraya, Kanlaon, and Taal, and Grade 10 – Bonifacio, Silang, and Luna.

Through short, meaningful classroom engagements, the team shares research-based guidance on responsible social media use, strengthening self-esteem and productivity, and being militant against misinformation through fact-checking and critical thinking. This ongoing peer service reflects the commitment of Des Chercheurs to translate research into real-world impact.

With the goal of reaching all sections of Talangan Integrated National High School and extending influence to the wider community, Des Chercheurs continues to educate, empower, and inspire—one classroom at a time.

With gratitude in my heart, I thank God for His guidance, which sustained me all throughout our study, “Modeling the Spread of Misinformation on Social Media Among Teenagers.” I am also thankful to the International Journal of Research Publications (IJRP) for accepting our research, making it possible for our voice as student-researchers to be heard internationally. I owe my appreciation as well to our research advisor, who became instrumental in turning this work into a reality. From this experience, I have realized that disseminating research through both international presentation and international publication has taught me the importance of collaboration and perseverance. This milestone is a reminder that research is not just about writing but also about sharing meaningful insights with others.

DES CHERCHEURS IN ACTION: GUIDING RESPONSIBLE SOCIAL MEDIA USE

The research journey of four young student-researchers from Talangan Integrated National High School continues to make an impact beyond international presentations and journal publications. Arlene Jovelle A. Enriquez, Allyssa S. Susmerano, Daniella Mae T. De Leon, and Ella Marie B. Garsola—proud members of Des Chercheurs—have initiated a room-to-room dissemination campaign in the school.

The campaign highlights the findings of their two published studies:
📌 “Modeling the Spread of Misinformation on Social Media Among Teenagers”
📌 “Mathematical Modeling of the Influence of Social Media on Self-Esteem and Productivity”

Through this initiative, the student-researchers aim to guide younger learners in using social media responsibly to maximize productivity and nurture healthy self-esteem, while equipping them with strategies to identify and combat misinformation. The team engages students through short talks, practical tips, and distribution of informative brochures.

With the encouragement and support of Principal Dr. Romeo M. Suliguin, and their research mentor Dr. Elymar A. Pascual, Des Chercheurs has already reached all sections of Grade 7, as well as Grades 11 and 12 (ABM), ensuring that their research creates meaningful, real-world impact in their own school community.

Their efforts embody the spirit of student-led research dissemination—transforming academic work into inspiration, awareness, and empowerment.

Today marks the beginning of my journey as a proud member of DES CHERCHEUR—an organization built on passion, inquiry, and the pursuit of truth. As I step into this role, I carry with me my reason for seeking, which is: “Acquiring new knowledge is a never-ending journey, as learning is a lifelong process. To make a meaningful and impactful contribution to the world, I continuously seek answers and solutions to various challenges. My goal is not only to benefit myself but also to support my community and fellow researchers.” I am inspired by Aristotle, a philosopher who focused on science as a branch of philosophy—similar to how I aim to conduct research scientifically. I hope to uncover insights that will help others see the beauty of asking questions and embracing curiosity. Our accomplished study with Dr. Elymar A. Pascual, entitled Mathematical Modeling of the Influence of Social Media on Self-Esteem and Productivity, taught me to seek answers within contexts close to our hearts, and through that, we can cultivate passion—leading to the best outcomes we can achieve.
