BFP–Nagcarlan Leads Fire Safety Lecture and Demonstration at Talangan Elementary School

Talangan Elementary School successfully conducted its Fire Prevention Month 2026 activity on March 13, 2026 at the TES Covered Court with the theme “Sa pag-iwas sa sunog, di ka nag-iisa.” The activity aimed to raise awareness among pupils and teachers about fire safety and proper response during fire-related emergencies.

The program was made possible through the support and collaboration of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Nagcarlan, who facilitated a Fire Safety Lecture and Demonstration for the school community. The informative lecture was conducted by FO1 Charles Vonn E. Cedeño and FO2 Leo Andrew L. Urrea, with the session headed by FO2 Urrea. They shared important knowledge about the common causes of fire, preventive measures, and the proper steps to take in case of a fire emergency.

One of the highlights of the activity was the fire extinguisher demonstration, where selected participants were given the opportunity to experience the proper use of a fire extinguisher. The pupil volunteers were Raillie Grey O. Exconde, a Grade 5 pupil, and Eyesha Hailey Santos, also from Grade 5. Representing the faculty was Mrs. Verlaine T. Capuno, who also actively participated in the demonstration guided by the BFP personnel.

The successful conduct of the activity was made possible through the leadership and support of Principal I, Mrs. Bella V. Bagsic, together with the assistance of the School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (SDRRM) Coordinator, Mr. Kim Carlo T. Isleta.

Through this activity, the Talangan Elementary School community strengthened its awareness and preparedness in fire prevention and safety. The school expresses its gratitude to BFP – Nagcarlan for their continued partnership in promoting safety and disaster preparedness among learners and educators.

Indeed, the activity served as a meaningful reminder that fire prevention is a shared responsibility, and with proper knowledge and cooperation, everyone can contribute to keeping the community safe.
