A clear reminder: public office is a public trust, and that principle should not stay on paper. It must be demanded, practiced, and defended.

For those in business law and legal management, this goes beyond theory. The systems we study and work within shape real outcomes: who gets opportunities, how contracts are enforced, and whether rules are applied fairly or selectively.

The message is not just to listen, but to act. Always question weak systems and contribute to reforms that uphold the rule of law.

๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š | Senator Kiko Pangilinan's message for the National Business Law Summit 2026

Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan, long known for his advocacy for farmers and the agricultural sector, sent a message to the delegates of ๐๐๐‹๐’ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ” that cut straight to the point: when oil prices rise, it is the farmers who feel it first and hardest.

Fuel drives everything in agriculture, from irrigation to transport, from planting to bringing food to market. When the price of oil climbs, production costs follow, profit margins shrink, and the people feeding the country are left absorbing losses that were never theirs to carry alone.

For delegates studying business law and legal management, his message was both a grounding and a challenge. The policies we draft, the contracts we enforce, the systems we build; they reach farther than a boardroom. They reach the fields. They reach the farmers. They reach the most vulnerable parts of our economy that are so often the last to be protected by the very laws meant to serve them.

This is what it means to lead with purpose. Not just to know the law, but to know who it is supposed to protect.

The morning session featured keynote speaker ๐—”๐˜๐˜๐˜†. ๐—Ÿ๐˜‚๐—ธ๐—ฒ ๐—˜๐˜€๐—ฝ๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐˜๐˜‚, whose powerful discussion on labor law and workersโ€™ rights in corporate governance sparked reflection and meaningful dialogue.
