Let me walk you through my journey…

I’ve been with this company for over three years—my first official ESL employer. It’s been a humbling experience: the management is great, the stress-free environment, the materials are user-friendly, and lots of students are genuinely kind and respectful. On the other hand, the rate is too low, no salary increase, and opportunities for professional growth are limited.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve felt the weight of burnout settling in. For the last three years, I’ve dedicated my life into teaching—showing up consistently, rarely taking absences, never facing issues with tardiness, and maintaining strong ratings and feedback. I've given everything I could.

Yet, the routine became never-ending, and the effort I invested no longer felt matched by the rate I received. Slowly, the fire that once fueled me began to dim. And for the first time, I received a warning letter from management—a moment that made me pause and reflect.

You know what? I was looking for a sign to either take a pause or totally resign.

After thoughtful consideration, I chose to finally submit my resignation—not because I’ve lost my passion for teaching, nor because I’m easily discouraged by challenges. I made this decision because I know my worth. I choose to honor my growth, protect my peace, and pursue opportunities that align with both.

Therefore, this decision carries lots risks and countless 'what-ifs.' Still, I’m grateful to have a few private students who can help sustain my needs, even within certain limitations. I’m embracing this period as a time for reflection, renewal, and continued self-improvement.
