Today, the Senate Committee on Health chaired by Senator Risa Hontiveros will deliberate the Mental Health Bills. Our office is overwhelmed by the outpour of support from young people.

Every day, 7 Filipinos commit su***de. Hindi kathang-isip ang mental health issues.

For several years since the establishment of the Ateneo Directorate of Student Organizations (ADSO), we have been catering the needs of every student organization in the university in our full capacity. Indeed, we have come a long way as an umbrella organization. We swept through each trial with ease, guided by our core values: Magis, Cura Personalis, Unity, Dialogue, Collaboration, and Discerning Spirit. We thank every student organization who shared the same vision with us and brought ADSO to where it is today.

True enough, no one is invincible to problems. It has been official since the day I took my oath last November 15, 2016 during the 4th ADSO Assembly that I, Lee Dominick T. San Jose, will assume the position as Chair of ADSO. I was more than glad, overwhelmed, and humbled even, to be given this opportunity to serve my fellow students. I have already prepared myself – mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, for taking the post requires a lot of courage and skills. But due to unwanted circumstances, I failed to enroll on time before the last day of enlistment for this 2nd Semester Academic Year 2016-2017 also due to unforeseen financial difficulty on my end.

With this, I gravely apologize to the students, student organizations, and all stakeholders of ADSO for not being able to live up to the oath that I have sworn. Nonetheless, I would still be present virtually, helping the umbrella organization to the best of my ability.

With that being said, I hereby file an Indefinite Leave from my Office. All concerns of the Office shall be directed to the Officer-In-Charge (OIC) - Chair and incumbent Vice-Chair for Initiatives and Activities, Ms. Hannah Henriette M. Hufancia. I am confident that she is competent and responsible in delivering designated tasks that is accountable for the position.

Thank you very much for your continuous support and we hope for the same level of zeal from all of you as we grow together and move towards a more vibrant and flourishing organization life in the Ateneo.
