The Institute for Micro-credentials (IMC) of Naga College Foundation, Inc. (NCF), in collaboration with East West International Educational Specialists, Inc. (EWIES), held back-to-back orientation sessions on September 26–28, 2026, on industry-validated short-term certifications for over 400 senior nursing students from the College of Health Sciences (CHS) and nearly 100 freshmen from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS).

These combined initiatives accentuate NCF's steadfast dedication to pioneering interdisciplinary, industry-aligned education and strengthen its mission to produce holistically trained, technically proficient, and ethically grounded professionals ready to lead in their respective fields with the distinct Tiger edge.

In a groundbreaking expansion of interdisciplinary education, the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) of Naga College Foundation, Inc. (NCF) launched its inaugural micro-credential initiative since the establishment of the Institute for Micro-credentials (IMC) in 2023.

CAS, in alliance with the IMC and East West International Educational Specialists, Inc. (EWIES), convened freshmen students specializing in English Language Studies, Communication, and Public Administration programs on September 28, 2026, for an orientation on the Certified Artificial Intelligence Professional (CAIP) course.

Designed as an intensive 32-hour, industry-validated certification, the CAIP program equips potential trainees with cutting-edge artificial intelligence competencies to bridge human-centered disciplines with emerging digital technologies.

Mr. Brenn Yulo M. Bacus, Training and Communications Manager, articulated NCF's overarching framework of priming its students with future-proofed skills to ensure immediate relevance and edge in an AI-augmented global workforce.

Meanwhile, Ms. Aimee De Guzman, EWIES General Manager, presented the corporate profile of EWIES alongside the rigorous 32-hour curriculum, enrollment criteria, and operational guidelines governing the certification.

This pioneering collaboration between CAS, IMC, and EWIES establishes a new benchmark for Liberal Arts education at NCF—demonstrating that technological fluency and AI proficiency are essential pillars across all academic fields and empowering NCeans to lead in tech-driven public and corporate landscapes.

The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) successfully concluded its three-day Strategic Planning Workshop with the culmination program held at Sambo's Farm on July 4, 2026.

Following the cluster-based planning sessions conducted from July 2 to 3, faculty members convened for the final day to present, consolidate, and refine their proposed strategic goals, key performance indicators, and action plans. Through collaborative discussions and constructive feedback, the participants aligned the College's strategic directions with the University's vision, strategic pillars, and priorities as it advances toward universityhood.

The culminating workshop also served as a venue to finalize initiatives on academic excellence, faculty development, research and extension, institutional management, student success, and the enhancement of learning resources. The activity concluded with the Dean's presentation of the University's strategic direction, inspiring the faculty to work collectively toward achieving the College's goals and contributing to Naga University Foundation's vision of becoming a premier global learning ecosystem.

As one College, the CAS community remains committed to building champions, fostering innovation, and championing excellence in instruction, research, extension, and service.

CAS Holds President’s and Dean’s Lister Awarding Ceremony

The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) successfully conducted the President’s Lister (PL) and Dean’s Lister (DL) Awarding Ceremony on June 22, 2026, at the Medical Classroom. The event recognized students who demonstrated academic excellence and outstanding performance during the academic term.

The program commenced with opening remarks from CAS Dean Dr. Fausto C. Romero, Jr., who congratulated the awardees and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence in their studies and future endeavors.

A highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the Certificate of Academic Excellence to Ms. Karen Mae Celso. In her message, she reminded fellow students that achievements are important, but they do not define a person's worth, sharing the inspiring words: “You are enough before the achievements, before the honors, before the titles, and before the applause.”

The event concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Delia Villanueva, who commended the awardees for their hard work, dedication, and perseverance.

The College of Arts and Sciences extends its warmest congratulations to all President’s Listers and Dean’s Listers. May their achievements serve as an inspiration to continue pursuing excellence while remaining grounded in their values and purpose.

The College of Arts and Sciences successfully conducted the Seminar on BICOL 101: Preserving Bikolano Language, Culture, and Identity as part of its preparation for the implementation of BICOL 101: Bicol Geography, History, Culture, and Values in Everyday Life in the institution.

The activity primarily gathered CAS faculty members who will be handling the course, together with selected faculty representatives from other colleges and departments. Participants were enriched by the insightful discussions and workshops of our distinguished resource speakers, Dr. Danilo M. Gerona and Dr. Mariben J. Berja, who shared their expertise on the Bikol language and the rich history, culture, identity, and heritage of the Bicol Region.

The College of Arts and Sciences extends its sincere gratitude to our resource speakers, participants, and organizers for contributing to the success of this seminar. As BICOL 101: Bicol Geography, History, Culture, and Values in Everyday Life is offered for the first time in the institution, we look forward to its successful implementation and its meaningful contribution to preserving and promoting both the Bikol language and the rich cultural heritage of the Bicol Region.
