PEAC Executive Director Doris Fernandez Ferrer and Judge Benjamin D. Turgano, President and CEO of the Natural Resources Development Corporation (NRDC), had an exploratory meeting on August 7, 2026 to talk about a potential partnership between the PEAC and NRDC through the proposed Buhay-Ilang: Immersive Biodiversity Learning and Visitor Engagement Program, a pilot initiative envisioned for implementation at the Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

The proposed program seeks to provide Grades 4 and 5 learners with immersive, guided learning experiences that deepen their understanding of biodiversity, wildlife conservation, ecosystems, and responsible environmental stewardship. Through a combination of pre-visit classroom preparation, on-site learning activities, and post-visit engagement, the initiative aims to transform a typical wildlife center visit into a meaningful conservation learning experience.

The meeting was also attended by Mizael Jay V. Pillagara, Technical Assistant to the PCEO, and Adrian Clar T. Gomeyac, Senior IT Specialist, from NRDC, as well as Maribelle Q. Gregorio from the PEAC National Secretariat.

Schools that were not able to attend the 2026 GASTPE Orientation Conference are expected to send a letter of explanation addressed to the PEAC Executive Director to facilitate access to the billing facility of the IMS and/or VMS.

The PEAC has issued the guidelines of the Coaching for Results in Education (CoRE) in 2026-2027. The PEAC NS will send a formal letter of invitation to participate to the eligible ESC participating junior high schools. The deadline of submission of letter of intent to participate is on August 10, 2026.
