The BISCASTโSupreme Student Council proudly joins the celebration of Pride Month 2026. While Pride is a time to honor love, diversity, and equality, true allyship doesnโt just live on social media graphics or festive banners. It happens in the quiet, everyday choices we make inside our classrooms, corridors, laboratories, and student spaces. This year, we challenge every ASTean to turn passive support into tangible, real-life advocacy that directly impacts our campus environment.
Pride in action means changing how we interact with one another daily. It means normalizing the use of correct pronouns and chosen names during classroom roll calls and group work. It means having the courage to stand up against casual, derogatory jokes disguised as "banter" in our hallways or online group chats. Real-life advocacy requires us to ensure our student organizations and campus activities are genuinely accessible and welcoming to everyone, regardless of gender identity or expression. By actively listening to the lived experiences of our LGBTQIA+ peers without judgment, we can unlearn old biases and build a community where everyone feels safe.
Beyond the celebration, our ultimate goal is to foster a campus culture where no ASTean ever feels the need to hide who they are just to fit in or feel secure. Let us work together to create an environment where individuality is not merely tolerated, but fiercely protected, respected, and empowered. When we stand up for one another in these small, concrete ways, we ensure that every single student is given the dignity they deserve to achieve their full potential.
