As we devotees celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Peñafrancia, May she continue to be a source of comfort and inspiration for us. Through her loving intercession, we are reminded to place our trust in God, especially when the road ahead feels dark.

May we also give ourselves the opportunity to pause in the presence of God to rest physically, emotionally and spiritually. Let us set aside our worries for a while and remember that we are never alone in the journey of life. There are moments when we may not understand why certain things happen, but faith teaches us to trust even when we cannot see what lies ahead.

According to global statistics of 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗛 𝗢𝗥𝗚𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗭𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡, More than 720,000 people die due to su***de every year. Su***de does not just occur in high-income countries but is a global phenomenon in all regions of the world. In fact, close to three quarters (73%) of global su***des occurred in low- and middle-income countries in 2021.

Cyberbullying. Bullying. Sexual Harassment. Financial difficulties. Abuse. Violence. Stigma. Discrimination. Academic, Life and Work Pressure. Neglect. Invalidation. Grief. Judgment. Exclusion.

As 𝒇𝒖𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 human services professionals, we are called not only to serve but to listen with utmost compassion from our hearts and extend hope when it is needed. Sometimes prevention begins with something simple. Make someone laugh. Share meals together. Go for a movie marathon. Visit a toy store. Read books. Go window shopping. Film fun Tiktok videos. Provide a listening and understanding ear and so much more.

𝙋𝙍𝙀𝙑𝙀𝙉𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉 𝘽𝙀𝙂𝙄𝙉𝙎 𝙒𝙄𝙏𝙃 𝘾𝙊𝙉𝙉𝙀𝘾𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉.

𝘾𝙃𝙊𝙊𝙎𝙀 𝙆𝙄𝙉𝘿𝙉𝙀𝙎𝙎, 𝘼𝙇𝙒𝘼𝙔𝙎.

There are times that people aren't seeking for immediate answers. They simply need to know that someone is willing to listen and walking alongside them. Our commitment to 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘹𝘤𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 means putting compassion into practice and creating communities where people feel seen, heard, accepted, and supported. Let us not wait for September yearly just to show we care as this is not a seasonal activity.

For those who are still in this battle, Your courage is seen and We are your sword and shield. You are not a burden. You matter. Your voice will be heard.

And to those who have survived, We see the challenges that brought you here. It's okay to catch a break for a moment. It's okay to reach out to someone and tell them “I need you.” Healing is never a straight line. Life is full of uncertainties, it can be terrifying what is waiting in the next chapter but you won't have to write it all alone.

Here's a look back of the Organizational Fair and Oath-taking that was held last August 28, 2026. A day where retro games inspired us to play, connect, and enjoy every level together. Just like many old games, we may move onto the next level to keep progressing but there are always memories worth saving for us to revisit someday.

The journey continues with pride, purpose, and commitment. ✨

A special highlight of this celebration was the presence of our distinguished guest speaker, Ms. Dianne Rose Fraginal, a pioneer of the Human Services program and a former Governor of Human Services students Organization, whose presence and words inspired our students to continue the legacy of service, compassion, and commitment.
