The University of Nueva Caceres proudly recognizes 𝐀𝐛𝐛𝐚𝐬 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨 𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧 as the 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 of the Juris Doctor Batch 2026 for the University's upcoming 78th Commencement Exercises on June 20, 2026. This year's theme, "𝙐𝙉𝘾𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙪𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙨: 𝙍𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙇𝙤𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮, 𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙂𝙡𝙤𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖𝙣 𝙀𝙥𝙞𝙘 𝙁𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚," perfectly mirrors his extraordinary journey.

Abbas’s path is a masterclass in grit, balancing the rigorous demands of legal education with high-stakes leadership as the 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 at the Bicol State College of Applied Sciences and Technology (BISCAST). A passionate advocate for justice, he has also consistently championed public awareness and Katarungang Pambarangay during clinical legal aid seminars.

True to the spirit of a global leader, Abbas brought a profound international perspective back home to Bicol after serving as an educator overseas in Spain and the United Arab Emirates. His graduation marks a historic academic “four-peat”—marking the fourth time he will deliver a valediction, spanning from his elementary, high school, and joint Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, to the School of Law.

His journey stands as a living testament of hope for all working students, proving that excellence is built through resilience, faith, and the courage to become exactly who you are meant to be.

The UNC LAW: Debate & Moot Club would like to congratulate its members for their excellent performance at the 6th Nagueño Debate Competition, held on April 24–26, 2026, at Naga City Science High School.

𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐉𝐨𝐲 𝐋𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬 was chosen as a member of the Chief Adjudication Panel (CAP) of the tournament, and served as a judge for the Grand Finals along with 𝐊𝐲𝐥𝐞 𝐑𝐚𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐚 who emerged as the 4th Best Adjudicator.

The team UNC Law Pookie Bear UwU distinguished themselves as a Reserve Breaking Team, represented by 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐡 𝐉𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐎𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐚, 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐨, and 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐳𝐢𝐚 𝐓𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚. 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐳𝐨 𝐑𝐨𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐨 𝐀. 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫 of UNC Law Malunggay Pandesal placed as the 7th Best Speaker of the tournament, together with teammates 𝐉𝐨𝐛𝐛 𝐑𝐨𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐳 and 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐝.

After a campaign defined by preparation, composure, and hard-earned victories, UNC Law Team A composed of 𝑪𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝑱𝒐𝒚 𝑳𝒍𝒂𝒅𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒔, 𝑲𝒚𝒍𝒆 𝑹𝒂𝒚 𝑷𝒂𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒌 𝑮𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒊𝒂, and 𝑳𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒛𝒐 𝑹𝒐𝒅𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒐 𝑨. 𝑱𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒓 emerged as the 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻 in the Finals of the previously concluded 𝘾𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙟𝙖 𝙇𝙖𝙬 & 𝘼𝙨𝙨𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙨 𝙉𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝘿𝙚𝙗𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, held on May 4–5, 2026 at Sorsogon State University in Sorsogon City.

The road to the championship was shaped by nights of long preparation, demanding training rounds, and the challenge of balancing competition with the realities of law school life.

Competing together for the first time, the team navigated consecutive rounds against other respected law institutions within the country, ultimately securing victories in both the semifinals, against San Beda College Alabang School of Law, and the Grand Finals against Ateneo de Naga University College of Law, eventually emerging as Champions of the tournament.
