A huge congratulations to our three young journos from 10-Pulitzer for bringing home 2ND PLACE in Dokyuwento during the Division Festival of Talents (DFOT) held at Sta. Cruz Elementary School, Sept. 9.

With 𝖈𝖗𝖊𝖆𝖙𝖎𝖛𝖎𝖙𝖞, 𝖉𝖊𝖉𝖎𝖈𝖆𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓, 𝖆𝖓𝖉 𝖆 𝖕𝖆𝖘𝖘𝖎𝖔𝖓 for storytelling, these young journalists proved that age is never a limit when there is a story to tell and a voice ready to be heard. Their hard work and commitment to the craft truly paid off!

Camarines Sur National High School brought home the Overall Championship in the Secondary Level of the 2026 Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) held Sept. 7-10 at the Naga City School of Arts and Trades.

‘BALIK FRANCIA ANG KORONA!’ 🏆☝️

#𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 | Camarines Sur National High School (CSNHS) reclaimed the crown after emerging as the Overall Champion in the Secondary Level of the 2026 Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) held Sept. 7-10 at the Naga City School of Arts and Trades (NCSAT).

Naga City Science High School was hailed First Runner-up, followed by Ateneo de Naga University as Second Runner-up, Saint Joseph School as Third Runner-up, and Naga College Foundation as Fourth Runner-up.

Meanwhile, in the Elementary Level, Naga Central School II captured the overall championship title.

Naga Central School I finished as First Runner-up, followed by Blessed Lights International Christian Academy (BLICA) as Second Runner-up, Naga City Montessori School as Third Runner-up, and Naga Parochial School as Fourth Runner-up.

A total of 41 campus journalists from The Isarog and Ang Isarog will advance to the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) this December.

This School Year 2026-2027, the Special Program in Journalism (SPJ) is home to 172 student journalists who are developing their skills in print, broadcast, and digital media production while embracing the values of responsible journalism.

The year also marks a milestone for the program as SPJ is now fully established across all junior high school grade levels. From Grade 7 to Grade 10, student journalists are given opportunities to sharpen their craft, amplify their voices, and contribute meaningfully to the school and the community.

/𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘩-𝘙𝘐𝘋-𝘦𝘭/

𝙿𝚕𝚊𝚛𝚒𝚍𝚎𝚕, originated from the Father of Philippine Journalism, Marcelo H. Del Pilar. A clever anagram of his surname, Del Pilar. He was also a Filipino journalist, writer, lawyer, and a freemason that used his writings to advocate for reforms of Filipinos during Spanish rule.

He also edited La Solidaridad, a prominent organization and the official newspaper of the Filipino Propaganda movement in Spain, under the pen name of ‘𝙿𝚕𝚊𝚛𝚒𝚍𝚎𝚕’.

/𝘯𝘢𝘩𝘬-𝘗𝘌𝘌𝘓/

𝙽𝚊𝚔𝚙𝚒𝚕 is from a Filipino writer, journalist, and a historian, Carmen Guerrero Nakpil, who is widely known for her writings on Philippine culture, history, and identity.

She is also regarded as the “Grand Old Lady of Public History” and a national treasure, spending eight decades chronicling the Filipino experience with brilliant prose, elegant wit, and sharp nationalism.

Johannes 𝙶𝚞𝚝𝚎𝚗𝚋𝚎𝚛𝚐 was a German inventor and craftsman of the movable-type printing press. He revolutionized information by making books and other printed materials accessible which sparked revolution that helped drive the Renaissance, Reformation and widespread literacy.

The name of 𝘗𝘶𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘻𝘦𝘳, came from Joseph Pulitzer who is widely recognized to be one of the pioneers of modern journalism; he was also an influential newspaper publisher and journalist.

Advocating for quality journalism, investigative reporting, and public serving through the press, he established what is known as the Pulitzer Prize. It is one of the most prestigious awards in journalism, literature and arts.

Every name not only leaves a mark in history, but also to the youth. Every section continues to write and inspire its own story. Together, we don’t just carry the pride of the people who are the pillars to our names—we carry their legacy. 🖋️
