It is with profound grief that the Naga College Foundation, Inc. (NCF) informs the public of the untimely demise of † Mr. Joel Caparas Villanueva, Assistant Vice President for Institutional Marketing and Public Relations, today, October 8, 2025, at the age of 55.

NCF honors his commitment to advancing the Founder's dedication to providing quality and affordable education through his remarkable marketing strategies, which positioned the NCean brand of education on the national consciousness.

As a result of his efforts and marketing brilliance, NCF remains widely recognized as the Home of the Champions by establishing a reputable image in sports, in academics, and in various collaborations, within and beyond the region.

All information pertaining to the memorial service will be communicated to the public following the finalization of arrangements.

During this difficult time, NCF extends its heartfelt sympathies and prayers to the family and loved ones of Sir Joel, and expresses its solidarity in praying for the eternal repose of the great leader.

Naga College Foundation, Inc. (NCF) is aware of reports involving a suspected data breach. The public is assured that the institution’s technical team, along with its partners, East West International Educational Specialist, Inc. (EWIES) and Sophos, are already investigating to verify the facts and ensure the protection of the data entrusted to NCF.

A series of measures have been implemented to mitigate cybersecurity risks, including the establishment of an auxiliary system to safeguard student records and the application of advanced security protocols across all institutional systems and digital accounts. Therefore, online services, including the institutional website and the Registrar Appointment System, have been intentionally disabled.

NCF has also coordinated with and reported the incident to the National Privacy Commission (NPC) to demonstrate its commitment to transparency. This action assures the public that the privacy and trust of its stakeholders remain the institution's top priority. #
