Ateneo Law Naga

The Ateneo de Naga University College of Law, through the Ignatian Legal Apostolate Office (ILAO), has been selected as the National Partner of the Raoul Wallenberg Institute (RWI) for its Regional Asia Pacific Programme (RAPP 2).

This initiative will be under the guidance and leadership of Dean Nina Rances, with Atty. Raziele Raneses serving as the Program Manager. They will be joined by esteemed and distinguished alumni of the College of Law, Attys. Chiara Guidote-del Castillo and John Mark Revilla. Together, they will develop a comprehensive repository of cases and best practices that will serve as the primary source material for understanding legal challenges in various jurisdictions.

This knowledge product will then be used as the foundation for case-based capacity building courses in key countries, fostering cross-institutional collaboration, addressing legal gaps, and promoting human rights and gender equality. This initiative aims to equip the legal community with the necessary skills to effectively prosecute, investigate, and litigate transboundary environmental issues using human-rights based and gender equality approaches.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to RWI and the International Commission of Jurists, who will be overseeing the regional component of this project, for their support in this endeavor. Their partnership will enable us to enhance capacities of the legal community and contribute to the improvement of environmental justice worldwide.

LUNDAG! This literally means “to jump”. In this year’s theme, we challenge ourselves to be brave enough to move forward and to even take a leap amidst the uncertainties, fears, and anxieties. We do not know what the future holds but we will take risks and we will make things happen.
