Did you know that...

The Philippines was under Spanish rule for more than 300 years. Because of this, many Spanish words and expressions are still used in everyday Filipino.

One interesting example is telling time. Although the Philippines and Spain use many similar expressions, they don't always tell time in exactly the same way.

𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗨𝗠𝗘𝗡 𝗗𝗘𝗟 𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗢 | 𝗗í𝗮 𝗱𝗲 𝗹𝗮 𝗔𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗱 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼–𝗘𝘀𝗽𝗮ñ𝗼𝗹𝗮 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Los estudiantes de SPFL participaron en la celebración del Día de la Amistad Filipino–Española 2026, realizada el 𝟯𝟬 𝗱𝗲 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼 𝗱𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 en la histórica 𝐈𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐝𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨 en 𝗡𝗮𝗴𝗮 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆.

La jornada comenzó con la Santa Misa a las 5:30 pm, seguida de la conferencia pública impartida por el 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙛. 𝘿𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙡𝙤 𝙈𝙖𝙙𝙧𝙞𝙙 𝙂𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙖, que se llevó a cabo de 6:30 pm a 8:30 pm Su ponencia sobre 𝘓𝘢 𝘊𝘪𝘶𝘥𝘢𝘥 𝘥𝘦 𝘕𝘶𝘦𝘷𝘢 𝘊𝘢́𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘴 ofreció una valiosa visión de los orígenes de la ciudad y de la influencia hispánica que sigue formando parte de la historia y la cultura de la Región de Bicol.

Esta actividad fortaleció el aprecio por nuestro patrimonio compartido y reafirmó los lazos de amistad duradera entre Filipinas y España.

𝐏𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐏𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐄-𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐒𝐇 𝐅𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔: 𝐏𝐔𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐂 𝐋𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄 🇵🇭🇪🇸 | In celebration of Philippine-Spanish Friendship Day 2026, the City Government of Naga, Nueva Caceres Heritage Movement, Inc., together with the Honorary Consulate of Spain in Bicol, invites everyone to a Public Lecture by Prof. Danilo Madrid Gerona on 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟑𝟎, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, 𝟔:𝟎𝟎 𝐏𝐌 𝐚𝐭 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐳𝐚 𝐑𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐥.

The lecture aims to deepen public understanding of our shared history, cultural ties, and enduring friendship between the Philippines and Spain—especially as reflected in the heritage of Naga and the Bicol region.

All participants who attend the lecture will receive an 𝐞-𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, while the 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝟑𝟎𝟎 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 will be provided with 𝐚 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐥 during the event.
