Today, we commemorate 𝐍𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐲 𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐃𝐚𝐲 honoring the life, courage, and sacrifice of former 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐨 “𝐍𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐲” 𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐉𝐫.

Despite the dangers of returning to the Philippines, Ninoy chose to come home and stand for democracy. On 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 21, 1983, his assassination became a turning point in Philippine history, awakening a nation and strengthening the Filipino people’s call for 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘰𝘮, 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘤𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘺. 🕊️

His sacrifice reminds us that freedom comes with a price, and preserving it is a responsibility we all share. His courage challenges us to speak for truth, stand against injustice, and use our voices to make a difference for our fellow Filipinos.

The 𝐔𝐍𝐂 𝐏𝐫𝐞-𝐋𝐚𝐰 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲⚖️ joins the nation in commemorating and honoring the life, sacrifice, and enduring legacy of 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐨 “𝐍𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐲” 𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐉𝐫.

For those who aspire to enter the legal profession, may Ninoy’s legacy remind us that justice is more than a career—it is a commitment to truth, courage, and service. May his sacrifice inspire us to uphold justice, defend freedom, and serve the Filipino people. ✨

The 𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨 𝐍𝐚𝐠𝐚 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐦 (𝐌𝐍𝐘𝐋𝐅) 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 has officially come to a close!
Participating on behalf of the UNC Pre-Law Society were 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗹𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗼, 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗼, 𝗞𝘆𝗹𝗲 𝗗𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝘀𝗮, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻, 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼-𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿, 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗢. 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗿𝗼.

Over the past two days, our listened to inspiring speakers, learned from fellow young leaders, shared ideas, and gained valuable perspectives that they can bring back to our Society and community. A major highlight of the forum was the opportunity to learn how to craft a project proposal. From identifying a community concern and understanding its needs to developing objectives, strategies, and concrete solutions, our members learned how ideas can be transformed into meaningful projects that can create a positive impact.

One message that stayed with our heart was from 𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗖. 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗳𝗶𝗻:
“𝓘 𝓴𝓷𝓸𝔀 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓘 𝓬𝓪𝓷.”
A simple yet powerful reminder that leadership begins with knowing what we are capable of and believing that we can turn our knowledge, ideas, and aspirations into action.
We are grateful for this opportunity to learn, connect, collaborate, and grow alongside fellow young leaders.

𝘚𝘖𝘓𝘈𝘕𝘈: 𝘈𝘵 𝘥𝘢𝘸𝘯, 𝘸𝘦 𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘦. 𝘈𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘬, 𝘸𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘢𝘪𝘭. 𝘈𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘢𝘳, 𝘸𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨.

There is a reason mountains are climbed before the sun's morning rays steal the remaining stars. The trail is darkest just before the first light appears. Every step feels uncertain. The summit seems impossibly far.

Yet those who continue walking know a quiet truth: the sun has already begun to rise, even before their eyes can witness its ascent.

That is what SOLANA means.
More than sunrise, SOLANA is the promise that light faithfully follows every long night. It is hope breaking through exhaustion. It is grace meeting perseverance. It is the certainty that no darkness lasts forever.

The journey to the Bar has never been about reaching a destination overnight. It has been a slow, relentless ascent—one page at a time, one recitation every session, one failure overcome, one lesson learned, one prayer whispered when no one else was listening.

Like every mountain, this one demanded something of you. It asked you to let go of comfort. To keep climbing when your legs grow weary. To trust the trail even when you could not see where it led.

Along the way, you may not have noticed how much you were changing. Growth rarely announces itself. Like roots beneath the soil, it happens quietly, patiently, and faithfully. The strongest foundations are often the ones hidden from view.

There were companions who walked beside you for a season, and there were stretches of the trail you had to face alone. Both were necessary. Every encounter shaped you. Every goodbye lightened your load. Every hardship strengthened your footing.

Perhaps that is the greatest lesson the mountain teaches us: the summit is never reached by accident. It is earned through countless ordinary steps that no one applauds.

If today you are afraid, know that courage has never meant the absence of fear. Courage is choosing to climb despite it. Doing it scared is still bravery. For the Bar is not merely an examination of memory—it is the culmination of every unseen sacrifice, every silent battle, every morning you chose discipline over comfort, every night you chose hope over surrender.

Soon, dawn will arrive. The horizon you have been walking toward will finally unfold before you. The climb that once felt endless will become the story of how you discovered your own strength. When you stand at the peak, may you realize that the greatest victory was never simply passing the Bar. It was becoming the kind of person who refused to stop climbing.

One day, the sun will rise over this chapter of your life, and you will realize that it was never the sunrise that transformed you.

It was the climb. So, as you take these final steps, may you carry with you the spirit of SOLANA.

The UNC Pre-Law Society proudly participated in Day 1 of the 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼 𝗡𝗮𝗴𝗮 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 (𝗠𝗡𝗬𝗟𝗙) 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, held on August 18, 2026 at Summit Hotel, Naga City.

Representing the Society were 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗹𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗼 (1st Year - BS Biology), 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗼 (1st Year - BS Nursing), 𝗞𝘆𝗹𝗲 𝗗𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝘀𝗮 (1st Year - AB Political Science), and 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻 (3rd Year - AB Political Science), accompanied by one of our co-founders, 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗢. 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗿𝗼.

Anchored on the theme, “𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵, 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲,” MNYLF 2026 brought together young leaders for meaningful conversations, new perspectives, and opportunities to turn ideas into action.

We are especially grateful to the Naga City Council for Youth Development for its 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 in making the participation of our members possible. Your investment in young changemakers creates opportunities for future to learn, connect, and contribute more meaningfully to their communities.

Makukulay na kasuotan, mga paligsahan, at mga programang isinasagawa ng paaralan at pamahalaan – ito ang mga kaganapan sa tuwing papasok na ang buwan ng Agosto. Ang Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa o mas kilala sa tawag na Buwan ng Wika. Ito ay isang taunang pagdiriwang sa bansa upang itaguyod ang kahalagahan ng wikang Filipino, pag-alala sa kasaysayan ng bansa, at pagpapayaman sa katutubong wika. Sa kabila ng mga ito, madalas pa ring nakakalimutan ng iilang Pilipino ang rason kung bakit hanggang ngayon patuloy pa rin itong ipinaglalaban ng iilang mamamayan sa bansa.

Sa pamamagitan ng Proklamasyon Blg. 1041, naisabatas ang pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa tuwing Agosto 1 hanggang 31 na pinirmahan ni dating pangulong Fidel V. Ramos noong ika-15 ng Hulyo, 1997. Ang layunin ng proklamasyong ito ay upang maiangat ang kamalayan ng bawat Pilipino, mas mapalakas ang paggamit sa wikang Filipino, at mas mapaigting ang pagmamahal sa bansang Pilipinas.

Sa panahon ngayon, patuloy pa rin ang paggamit ng wikang Filipino bilang paraan ng komunikasyon sa bansa upang magkaunawaan at makapaglahad ng saloobin o opinyon sa bawat isa. Ito ay sumisimbolo sa ating kultura, tradisyon, at paniniwala na hanggang ngayo’y kailangan pa ring yakapin at tangkilikin. Ang buwan ng Agosto ay hindi lamang nagtatapos sa selebrasyon ng magagarang kasuotan at paligsahan, bagkus ito rin ang nagsisilbing representasyon ng ating pagkakakilanlan bilang isang Pilipino. Hindi lamang nito tinataguyod ang kahalagahan ng wikang Filipino, sapagkat itinataguyod din nito ‘kung sino tayo’ at ‘ano tayo’ bilang mamamayang Pilipino.

Ngayong buwan ng Agosto, sabay-sabay nating yakapin ang identidad ng isang Pilipino at mas palakasin ang pagmamahal sa wikang pambansa; sabay-sabay nating palakasin, pagyamanin, at mahalin nang nararapat at sapat. Matagal nang nakaukit sa ating mga dugo at puso ang dangal ng Buwan ng Wika, at ngayon narito tayong muli hindi lang upang maipamalas ang ating galing sa paligsahan o maipakita ang ating magandang kasuotan – narito tayong muli upang isulong ang kahalagan ng ating wika bilang parte ng ating pagkakakilanlan.

Anchored on the theme “𝗛𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗯𝗼𝗴 𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻, 𝗗𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗹𝗼𝗻,” the celebration serves as a reminder that the youth are shaped by the nation’s history and strengthened by the 𝘄𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 that continue to guide our communities toward a better future.

As we celebrate the spirit of the youth, may we remember that 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲—every voice carries meaning, every effort can leave a lasting impact, and meaningful leadership begins when young people choose to participate, serve, and stand for positive change. Through 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, the youth continue to become a source of 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞, 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 for our communities and for the generations to come.

The Office of the Chancellery has formally requested the Advocacy Council to consider the enactment of a Resolution constituting the 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗨𝗡𝗖 𝗣𝗿𝗲-𝗟𝗮𝘄 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗖𝗼𝗺 𝟭). 📜⚖️

Strong organizations are not only built on sound foundations but also on their willingness to evolve. We honor the Constitution and the founding members who established the beating heart upon which the Society continues to thrive, even as we take this important step toward 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲-𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗴 our governance. Through this initiative, the Society seeks to undertake a comprehensive and independent review of the UNC Pre-Law Society Constitution and By-Laws, ensuring that our governing framework remains 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁, 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲, and 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 of supporting the Society's continued growth.

𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 is an essential responsibility of every enduring organization. It will enable us to strengthen our structures, refine our processes, preserve institutional memory, and adapt to emerging challenges while remaining faithful to our founding principles. By investing in this process today, the Society reinforces its commitment to 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴-𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, and 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 in serving both its present members and the generations of LAWminaries to come.

Should the Advocacy Council enact the proposed Resolution, the Chancellery has committed its full administrative, executive, and logistical support toward its faithful implementation. Together, this initiative advances the Society's commitment to 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮-𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺, 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, and a 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲-𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳 organization that continues to flourish for generations of UNC Pre-Law Society members. 💜💛
