25/02/2026
On February 25, 2026, declared a Special Working Day under Proclamation No. 1006, we stand with the nation in honoring the 40th Anniversary of the historic EDSA People Power Revolution.
Four decades ago, ordinary Filipinos filled the streets of Epifanio de los Santos Avenue with extraordinary courage. What began as a collective cry for truth and freedom became a peaceful movement that changed the course of our history. The world witnessed how unity, faith, and unwavering resolve could restore democracy without violenceโthrough the strength of a people standing as one.
Today, the spirit of EDSA lives on not only in our history books, but in the choices we make every day. It lives in every act of integrity, in every voice that speaks for what is right, and in every effort to build a just and compassionate society.
As members of the academic community of Mindanao State University at Naawan (MSUN), we are called to carry this legacy forward. In our classrooms, in our research, in our service to the community, and in our leadership, we embody the ideals of democracy, accountability, and shared responsibility. We are reminded that nation-building does not happen only in moments of revolutionโit happens daily, through informed minds, principled actions, and hearts committed to the common good.
May this anniversary inspire us to remain vigilant guardians of freedom, courageous defenders of truth, and active participants in shaping the future of our nation.
The story of EDSA is not only about the pastโit is about who we choose to be today.
