๐ฎ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐,โ examines how Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) practices influence Green Employee Behavior (GEB) through the development of Green Human Capital (GHC). The research was conducted among 171 rank-and-file employees in selected food service companies in Iligan City, Philippines, and employed Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling to analyze the mediating role of GHC. The findings show that GHRM practices do not directly affect GEB. Instead, they exert a significant indirect effect through GHC, emphasizing the importance of developing employeesโ environmental knowledge, skills, and attitudes to foster sustainability-oriented behaviors.
The study concludes that investing in Green Human Capital is essential for translating organizational green practices into tangible pro-environmental behaviors, particularly in fast-food industries characterized by high employee turnover and standardized operations. It recommends structured training programs, competency-based recruitment that prioritizes environmental orientation, performance appraisals linked to green outcomes, and employee empowerment initiatives. The study also encourages partnerships with local government agencies and community organizations to further enhance employeesโ green competencies. Collectively, these insights underscore the strategic and practical value of integrating GHRM and GHC development to advance environmental responsibility and promote a sustainable future.
