“The success of the 1st International Conference on Responsible Fisheries and Sustainable Aquaculture (ICORFASA) owes its profound gratitude to the dedicated individuals whose contributions have been indispensable:

First and foremost, I extend my gratitude to the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairman, Prof. J. Prospero E. De Vera III, for entrusting Mindanao State University at Naawan (MSUN) and my leadership as Chancellor with this pivotal project. Your confidence in our university’s capabilities fuels our dedication to pursue and continue our commitment to excellence. I also sincerely appreciate Atty. The 1st ICORFASA is a result of the project Development of Academic and Exchange Programs for Fisheries and Marine Science among Philippine and Turkish universities, aimed at forging international linkages and partnerships with various stakeholders, academia, scientists, and researchers dedicated to advancing Fisheries and Marine Science. Through ICORFASA, our goal is to ignite innovative thinking, foster collaborative pathways, and inspire ongoing commitment to promoting responsible fisheries and sustainable aquaculture. Day 2 of ICORFASA 2024: Mr. Daniel V. Cabrera, National Sales Manager of Santeh Feeds Corporation, one of ICORFASA’s sponsors, shares to us about Santeh’s commitment to “Quality Feeds for a Sustainable Aquaculture”.

Day 2 of ICORFASA 2024: Dr. Jericardo S. Mondragon, Chief of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources - National Mariculture Center (BFAR-NMC), is the second speaker for today’s Stakeholders Forum.

He shares with us the BFAR-NMC’s Interventions in support of the Mariculture Park Development in the Philippines.

Day 2 of ICORFASA 2024: Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Region X Director Edward B. Yasay kickstarts today’s Stakeholders Forum sharing BFAR’s role and contribution to sustainable fisheries and aquaculture.

UPDATE: With her topic titled, “Empowering Women for Sustainable Seas: Gender-Inclusive Strategies in Fisheries and Aquaculture Management,” Prof. Kyoko Kusakabe of the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand, is the last plenary speaker for this afternoon’s session.

UPDATE: Third on the list, Prof. Dr. Khor Waiho of Universiti Malaysia Terengganu presents his topic titled, “Adapting to the Heat: Understanding Climate Change Impacts on Mud Crabs for Sustainable Aquaculture.”

UPDATE: Next on the list of Plenary Speakers is Prof. Dr. Sebahattin Ergün of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Turkiye. He is currently discussing about Natural Fish Feed Additives in Health and Immunity.
