The Orientation for the Newly Accepted DOST-SEI STRAND Scholars for the 1st Semester of AY 2025–2026 was successfully conducted on 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟭:𝟬𝟬 𝗣𝗠 𝘁𝗼 𝟱:𝟬𝟬 𝗣𝗠 𝗮𝘁 𝗢𝗩𝗖𝗦𝗔𝗦, 𝗠𝗦𝗨 𝗮𝘁 𝗡𝗮𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻. The activity was attended by seven (7) new scholars, (𝟮) 𝗣𝗵𝗗 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆, (𝟮) 𝗠𝗦 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 (𝟯) 𝗠𝗦 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀, together with 𝗠𝘀. 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗲 𝗕. 𝗔𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗼, 𝗠𝗔, 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀, and facilitated by the 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝘆𝗻 𝗗𝘂𝘃𝗶𝗻 𝗣. 𝗛𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗻, 𝘃𝗶𝗮 𝗭𝗼𝗼𝗺.

The session aimed to provide scholars with essential information about their benefits, responsibilities, and expectations under the STRAND Program, ensuring they are well-prepared as they begin their graduate studies.

Following the orientation, a photo opportunity was held with the university officials, including 𝗠𝘀. 𝗔𝗿𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗕. 𝗨𝘆, 𝗠𝗣𝗔, 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀; 𝗠𝘀. 𝗥𝗵𝗼𝗱𝗮 𝗗. This project, in partnership with 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 (𝗡𝗖𝗞𝗨) in Tainan City, Taiwan R. O. C and the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 (𝗡𝗙𝗥𝗗𝗜), focuses on shrimp diseases and immunology.

Running from 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭 𝘁𝗼 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟯𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰, the 3-month study explored innovative solutions to shrimp viral diseases using cutting-edge techniques.

This collaboration highlights our scholar’s contribution to global research efforts in aquaculture, and the wide range of international opportunities our scholars will have. We are excited to see the positive impacts of this collaboration.
