𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟑 of 𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 served as the closing chapter of the celebration, carrying a distinct balance of academic precision and stylized expression aligned with the Monster High x Bratz theme. The day began with a morning program dedicated to literary and intellectual excellence, where substance took center stage with just the right amount of flair.

The 𝐁𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐚 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 opened the session, highlighting creativity and continuity in narrative construction. This was followed by the 𝐑𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐨 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 showcase, where participants delivered with clarity, control, and presence. The 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐳 𝐁𝐨𝐰𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 intensified the atmosphere, demanding accuracy and composure under pressure. The morning concluded with a trivia segment that kept the energy active while maintaining a light, engaging tone.

As evening approached, 𝐌𝐒𝐔𝐍 𝐅𝐇 transitioned into a refined yet visually striking venue for the 𝐀𝐜𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲, where formal proceedings met the bold, stylized edge of the theme. The Awarding Proper was led by 𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐢𝐣𝐢𝐞𝐥 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐣𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐞́ 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧, together with 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐨, recognizing the achievements of students whose performances throughout the celebration reflected both discipline and creative distinction.

The highlight of the evening, 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐈𝐜𝐨𝐧: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐠 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, embodied the Monster High x Bratz aesthetic through elevated presentation and confident individuality. Under the leadership of 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐉𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐞𝐥 𝐋𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐳, participants took the stage in the 𝐄𝐝𝐮 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐳𝐚 and 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐈𝐜𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞, presenting looks and performances that balanced theatricality with precision. The 𝐋𝐢𝐩 𝐒𝐲𝐧𝐜 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧 served as the defining moment of the competition, followed by a special guest performance from Mr. Lopez that further energized the audience.

The title of 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐈𝐜𝐨𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐄𝐥𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐎𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫, whose performance demonstrated a clear command of both character and stage. The evening concluded with the 𝐀𝐜𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲, where attendees embraced the theme through expressive styling, culminating in the recognition of the Best Dressed participants.

Day 3 concluded CESS Days 2026 with a program that remained academically grounded while fully embracing a stylized, high-impact presentation, proving that formality and creative identity can coexist with clarity and purpose.

𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐 of 𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 formally commenced with a grand assembly at the 𝐌𝐒𝐔𝐍 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝, followed by a campus parade along the Research Extension route. Students, faculty, and staff participated with strong coordination, setting a purposeful and engaging tone for the day’s activities.

The program proper opened with a message from the 𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐧, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐄𝐦𝐦𝐲𝐥𝐨𝐮 𝐀. 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫, who emphasized the value of unity and active student participation in sustaining the spirit of the celebration. On behalf of Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Services, Ma'am Arlene B. Uy, the Associate Vice Chancellor from the Office of Student Affairs and Services delivered the official message, ensuring that the Vice Chancellor’s support and guidance were clearly communicated to the student body.

The 𝟓-𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 followed, showcasing organization, creativity, and collective discipline among participating groups. This was succeeded by 𝐋𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐞, which maintained high engagement through interactive and competitive activities that drew strong participation from the students.

In the afternoon, the stage was dedicated to the day’s major cultural events, presided over by Chairman of the Board of Judges, 𝐒𝐢𝐫 𝐃𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐬 𝐃𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐮𝐬 𝐎𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐚. The 𝐄𝐭𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐩 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 featured performances that integrated cultural elements with contemporary expression. The 𝐖𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 highlighted character portrayal and stage command, while the 𝐋𝐢𝐩 𝐒𝐲𝐧𝐜 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 concluded the program with performances that were both precise and engaging.

Overall, Day 2 delivered a structured and dynamic program, reflecting both the academic community’s formality and the distinctive, expressive edge of the 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐱 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐳-𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

The Training and Student Activity Center (TSAC) was transformed into a runway of the supernatural as we hosted 𝐌𝐘𝐓𝐇𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐊: 𝐂𝐄𝐌 𝐌𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬-𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐠 𝐅𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔. In a spectacular fusion of ancient folklore and glamor, the English Department proved that we don't just study history—we wear it, walk it, and work it.

The temperature surged during the Lip Sync Battle as every participant channeled their inner mythological power. Performing to 𝑳𝒂𝒅𝒚 𝑮𝒂𝒈𝒂’𝒔 𝑨𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒂𝒅𝒂𝒃𝒓𝒂, it was a literal fight for the spotlight. Hair was flipped, stages were stomped, and the main character energy was so thick you could cut it with a scythe. Every contestant gave 110% to ensure all eyes were on them—and trust us, we were watching.

But beauty without brains? Not in this department. After the fiery performances, the field narrowed to an elite 𝑻𝒐𝒑 𝟑: 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝒏𝒖𝒃𝒊𝒔 𝑲𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒏, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑽𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒆, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑫𝒊𝒘𝒂𝒕𝒂. What followed was a nerve-wracking, intense Q&A round where these finalists had to defend their mythological honor. It was a battle of wits that left the audience holding their breath.

The spirit of inquiry and learning came alive on the morning of April 20, 2026, as students gathered for the first segment of CEM Day titled “𝐌𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝: 𝐑𝐞𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐍𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞.” 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫, “𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡: 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬,” served as a meaningful platform for deepening students’ understanding of qualitative research and its role in capturing human experiences and perspectives.

The program formally opened with inspiring remarks from Ms. 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐚, CEM Adviser, who warmly welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of research in developing critical thinking and academic growth.
The seminar was graced by 𝐒𝐲𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐉𝐚𝐲 𝐁. 𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧, 𝐋𝐏𝐓, 𝐂𝐑𝐒, a faculty member of the Teacher Education Program and Data Analyst Director at Initao College. A graduate of BSEd-English from MSU-Naawan and currently pursuing his MAEd in English Language Teaching at SMC-Iligan, he is also a Certified Research Specialist, award-winning research presenter, and published author of multiple journal articles. His expertise greatly enriched the learning experience of the participants.

Throughout the seminar, participants were introduced to the core principles of phenomenological and discourse analysis—approaches that go beyond numbers and focus on the richness of lived experiences, language, and meaning. The discussion highlighted how research is not only about gathering data, but also about listening, interpreting, and giving voice to stories that often go unheard.
The session encouraged critical thinking and inspired students to view research as a powerful tool for understanding people, culture, and society. More than just a learning experience, the seminar became a space for reflection—reminding everyone that behind every study lies a human story worth exploring.
The event was successfully organized by the Circle of English Majors, led by 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐚 𝐊𝐚𝐲𝐞 𝐁. 𝐋𝐚𝐩𝐮𝐳 and her dedicated officers, whose efforts made the seminar both meaningful and impactful.
