Another rain-filled Saturday on the mats! 🌧️🥋

The weather may have been gloomy, but that didn’t stop us from getting some good training in. We kicked things off with our Morning Gi class with Prof. Migz, followed by another fun and energetic Preschool Jiu-Jitsu class led by Coach Micaela and Coach Chin. 💪🏼

A quick reminder for our Preschool Batch #6 families—their final class will be this Tuesday! It’s been an amazing journey watching our little ones learn, grow, and gain confidence on the mats. 🥹🥋

We’re also looking at mid-September for Preschool Batch #7! We’ll announce the dates as soon as everything is finalized. We’re looking forward to having everyone back on the mats and welcoming some new little grapplers into the family! 🫶🏻

And while our Saturday crew was busy training, some of our teammates are out competing today at the Dumau Competition! A huge good luck to Darin, Nika, Annika, KC, and Kurt! Trust your training, enjoy the experience, and represent the team with pride. We’re all behind you! 👊🏼🔥

Despite the nonstop rain, we had an awesome turnout across all three classes today. Thank you to everyone who braved the weather and showed up to train. Your dedication is what keeps our team growing stronger every week.

Our morning No-Gi class with Coach Milan Ordoñez got even better with a surprise visit from Brofessor Alec John Eeles ! It’s always a pleasure having him back on the mats, sharing rounds and bringing great energy to the team.

Our Kids Jiu-Jitsu class was moved to today as we make way for the upcoming asjjfdumaumanila Competition tomorrow. Best of luck to everyone competing—we’re excited to see all your hard work put to the test!

A huge thank you as well to Prof Alex Clou for wrapping up his week of teaching our afternoon Gi classes. We truly appreciate you stepping in, sharing your knowledge, and helping everyone sharpen their game. Catch him next week at Deftac Ayala Greenfield Estates ! 👊🏼

And finally, a massive congratulations to Alex, Yzzy, Yelena, and Yanna on earning their new belts! 🎉🥋 Every promotion is a reflection of the countless hours spent learning, training, and staying consistent. We’re especially happy to see Alex finally receive her long-overdue Grey/White Belt after being away from training for a couple of months. It’s a reminder that true progress isn’t erased by time away—it comes from the dedication you’ve shown throughout your journey.

Congratulations to all four of you! We’re proud of everything you’ve accomplished, and we can’t wait to see what comes next.

Today, we say goodbye (for now) to our teammate Agimat as he heads back home. While we’re all sad to see you leave, we’re incredibly grateful for the time you spent training with us. Thank you for bringing great energy, being an awesome training partner, and becoming such a valued part of our team in such a short time. It has truly been an honor having you as part of the Deftac Alabang family. We wish you nothing but the best on your next chapter, and remember—you’ll always have a home on our mats whenever you’re back in town. Safe travels, brother. Until we roll again! 👊🏼

On a brighter note, we’d also like to welcome Liam back to our Kids Jiu-Jitsu class! It’s great to have you back on the mats, and we’re excited to see you continue your journey with us.

We’re also happy that Liam’s little sister, Rafa, got to experience our Kids Advanced class today! While she’s still got a few years before officially joining the team, we loved having her around and can’t wait to welcome her back when the time comes. We’ll be saving a spot on the mats for you, Rafa! 🥋💛

The faces may change from time to time, but what makes this team special is the people who become part of the journey. Here’s to the memories we’ve made, the friendships we’ve built, and the ones we’ll continue to create together.

But it gets even spicier… 🌶️ We were surprised with a visit from the OG himself—HQ and Alabang BROfessor Alec John Eeles ! It’s always a pleasure having you back on the mats, rolling with the team, sharing your experience, and reminding everyone where it all started.
