2. CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

“IT’S MORE FUN IN OUR SCHOOL!”
A music/reportage video contest on what makes your school a unique, fun, and exciting place

CATEGORIES AND LEVELS

1. High School

CONTEST RULES:

• The contest is open to all grade school and high school students all over the country.
• Schools are allowed to submit a maximum of two entries per level.
• Each group must be composed of a maximum of three (3) students

per level (Grade School or High School)
• Entries must have a minimum of 1 minute or maximum of 3 minutes of news reportage or music video with the theme “It’s More Fun in Our School!”
• The video may be in either English or Filipino.
• All entries must be made using free trial of Newsmaker software available in the page: EduPower Newsmaker Competition 2012
• Contestants are encouraged to be as creative as possible by using animations, pictures, background, and other tools provided in the software.
• All entries submitted will be under the property of EduPower Publishing Corporation. HOW TO JOIN:

• A downloadable registration form will be available in the page: EduPower Newsmaker Competition 2012
• Contestants should email duly accomplished form to [email protected].
• Contest Proper will be from July 30, 2012 to September 3, 2012.
• Deadline of submission of entries will be on 5:00 pm of September 3, 2012.
• Entries submitted after the deadline will no longer be evaluated or included in the contest.
• The Top 5 entries per level will be chosen as finalists and will be notified through email or phone. Content (Relevance to Theme) 30%
2. Presentation aesthetics (use of animation,
background music, etc.) 20%
3. Creativity and Originality 30%
4. Delivery (Grammar) 20%

ANNOUNCEMENT OF WINNERS

• Awarding of winners will be done on Sept. 16, 2012 11 am to 12 nn, last day of the Manila International Bookfair (MIBF)
• There will only be one (1) grand prize winner per level.
• All finalists including winners will be given certificates of participation

English Learning Anytime, Anywhere: EDO-Mobile for Tablets and Smartphones

English Discoveries Online (EDO) now has a software app which is accessible from iPhones, iPads, and Android smartphones and tablets.

Launched as EDO-Mobile (EDO-M), the app offers anytime, anywhere English practice via dynamic and interactive videos, animations, and audio content.

It aims to improve students’ listening, speaking, and grammar skills through modular skill-building lessons.

The app is one of the elements of EDO, Edusoft’s flagship and globally successful English proficiency program. It is integrated in EDO and its Teacher Management System or TMS which enables teachers and students to track their activities and progress.

EDO-M can also be a standalone learning tool that puts fun in English learning through interactive video role plays, animations, practice questions, and quizzes.
