NINOY AQUINO DAY | The Filipino Is Worth Believing In
“I have carefully weighed the virtues and the faults of the Filipino and I have come to the conclusion that he is worth dying for because he is the nation’s greatest untapped resource.”
— Benigno “Ninoy” S. Aquino Jr.
On this Ninoy Aquino Day, we remember a message that reaches beyond political colors, parties, and differences in opinion: The Filipino is worth believing in.
Ninoy’s words were ultimately about the worth and potential of the Filipino people—our capacity to rise, to persevere, to serve, and to contribute to something greater than ourselves.
At South Mansfield College, we believe that this potential begins with the formation of young people who are prepared not only to succeed, but also to make a difference.
As Soaring Royals, we are anchored in our AVID Principles:
✨ Academic Excellence — pursuing knowledge and excellence with purpose.
✨ Values Excellence — choosing integrity, responsibility, and what is right.
✨ Interpersonal Sensitivity — treating others with compassion, respect, and understanding.
✨ Drive and Discipline to Achieve — persevering with determination even when the path is difficult.
Because honoring the Filipino is not only about remembering what others sacrificed for us. It is also about becoming Filipinos worthy of that hope.
A Filipino who learns.
A Filipino who cares.
A Filipino who perseveres.
A Filipino who leads with integrity.
A Filipino who lifts others.
A Filipino who believes that a better Philippines is possible—and chooses to be part of building it.
This Ninoy Aquino Day, may we set aside political colors and remember what unites us:
We are Filipinos. We share one homeland, one history, and a responsibility to one another.
May our Soaring Royals continue to rise—not only in achievement, but in character, compassion, resilience, and purpose.
For every Filipino.
For every generation.
For the Philippines.
Be GLOBAL. Be AMAZING. Be SOUTH MANSFIELD.
