Earthquake Safety Tips for Students

During an Earthquake

1. DROP, COVER, and HOLD ON Drop to the ground, take cover under sturdy furniture, and hold on until the shaking stops.
2. Stay indoors. Ddo not run outside during shaking.
3. Stay away from windows, glass, and heavy furniture that could shatter or fall.
4. Protect your head and neck with your arms if no shelter is available.

After the Shaking Stops

1. Evacuate calmly using designated routes.
2. Avoid damaged areas and report hazards to school staff.
3. Use phones only for emergency communication.
4. Stay hydrated and follow instructions from authorities.

At Home

1. Prepare an emergency kit with water, snacks, flashlight, radio, and first aid.
2. Secure heavy items like shelves, TVs, and mirrors to walls.
3. Know your evacuation plan and safe zones outside your home.
4. Practice drills with your family regularly.

SCS ADVISORY

In view of the Department of Education–National Capital Region (DepEd NCR) Advisory suspending face-to-face classes in all public schools on October 13–14, 2025 due to rising cases of influenza-like illnesses and recent earthquakes, South Crest School will likewise observe the suspension of in-person classes on the said dates.

To ensure learning continuity, Synchronous Online Classes will be implemented during this period. Parents and students are advised to check their respective class group chats and Advisory Google Classroom.
