PARENTS AS PRIMARY EDUCATORS OF THEIR CHILDREN
It’s not just your child’s school, but your school as parents as well! These are not just words, but a practicing philosophy guided by the belief that:
- The education of a child is the primary responsibility of the parent (the ideal situation is both Mom and Dad, and not j
ust one).
- A child can be most effectively educated with the school working in close collaboration with the parents.
- The child benefits most from the harmonious balance between the two learning environments – the home and the school.
- The child’s formative years must be nurtured in a climate that balances discipline and freedom. A BALANCED CURRICULUM
PAREF Ridgefield School offers a unique educational experience that is fun and engaging, yet challenging for young children. Ridgefield School’s balanced curriculum focuses on the total child and aims to develop the skills and attitudes that will benefit the child throughout the pre-school years and into the big schools. A thematic and integrated approach provides various opportunities for children to be active participants in the learning process. The curriculum themes, introduced and enhanced through story-telling, cover a wide range of topics that reflect the interests of the children, helping them make meaningful connections between their lessons and their personal experiences. Ridgefield School recognizes that children have different needs, developmental levels and learning styles. To address these differences and target specific learning needs, a variety of enriching learning activities, like group discussions, art projects, movement and games, cooking and creative writing are integrated into the lessons, making the children’s learning stimulating and enjoyable. MENTORING
PAREF RIDGEFIELD SCHOOL GIVES YOUR CHILD A PERSONALIZED EDUCATION THROUGH THE MENTORING SYSTEM. With the parents’ close involvement, the school’s chief thrust is personalized mentoring guidance. Each child is assigned a mentor who guides the child’s personal development. In collaboration with the parents, the mentor nurtures the child, instilling in him the proper values that will help build his character. VIRTUE of the MONTH
A virtue is taken up every month and this is reinforced through the mottos. The virtues and mottos are presented through stories, slide presentations, and songs, and reinforced with activities for the whole family. Our virtues are :
