TBT to when every day at Southridge was leg day! 🦵🏫
Before the modern upgrades, Southridge was basically an obstacle course. Whether it was the trek to the Shrine, the climb to the Chapel, or navigating four floors in Phase 1 and Phase 2, we certainly got our cardio in.
This shot shows the classic hallway leading to the Auditorium, with the Rotunda to the left and the Shrine to the right. Who else remembers sprinting down this stretch to make it to assembly on time? 🏃♂️💨

Hey, Southridge Alumni! 🦅
As we navigate the busy-ness of our careers, businesses, and family lives, the Month of May calls us back to something deeper. In the Southridge tradition of spiritual formation, May is the month of pilgrimage, a time to step away from the noise, reconnect with God, and honor Our Lady.
You don't need an elaborate, week-long trek. Our challenge to every Southridge brother this month is simple: Do at least ONE pilgrimage. Whether it’s a quick drive to a nearby Marian shrine, a quiet walk to a local chapel with your son, or gathering a few batchmates for a weekend visit to a church, let’s make it happen.
Check out our quick comic strip below to see what a movement of the soul looks like! 👇
🗺️ Need ideas for your Pilgrimage?
For our brothers in the Philippines, here are a few accessible spots to visit:
📍 Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage (Antipolo Cathedral)
📍 Regina RICA (Tanay, Rizal) – Great for a scenic drive with batchmates
📍 National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe (Makati) – Perfect for a quick lunchtime visit during the workweek
📍 The Southridge Chapel – Right where it all started.
Leave the noise behind. Reconnect with the brotherhood. Return to purpose.
Commit to just one this month, Admiral. Who are you tagging to go with you? 👇

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: Fr. Cholo Luistro ('08) on Vocation, Opus Dei, and the SR Way
"Sanctify your work, sanctify yourself, and sanctify others through your work."
We’ve all heard those words during our days at SR, but what does that look like in the real world? In this episode of The Sour Taste Podcast, our very own Fr. Cholo Luistro (Batch 2008) shares an incredibly candid and commendable look into his journey from Southridge student to a priest of the Prelature of Opus Dei.
Why you should give this a listen:
1. Fr. Cholo breaks down the spirit of Opus Dei in a way that’s relatable to any professional. He talks about his years as a Numerary, working a secular job while being fully committed to the mission, reminding us that holiness is found in the office, not just the chapel.
2. Father reflects on the mentorship and personal formation we received at Southridge. It’s a great reminder of how those "Personal Chats" with our mentors weren't just about grades, but about building a foundation for life.
3. We commend Fr. Cholo for his transparency. He speaks about the weight of the confessional and the humanity behind the collar with the kind of wit and grit we expect from a SR student.
Fr. Cholo, thank you for being a "Man for Others" and for showing us that the path to greatness is paved with the small, ordinary things done well.
To the boys of Batch 2008 and the rest of the alumni community—check this one out. It’s a proud moment for the school.

🎤✨ Talk on Gratitude | Student Assembly
Our sincere thanks to Mr. Ryan Fermin (Batch 2012) for returning to PAREF Southridge School to deliver a meaningful and inspiring talk on gratitude.
Through his message, our students were reminded that gratitude is more than just words it is a way of life that keeps us grounded, appreciative, and aware of the blessings we receive each day. His reflections encouraged everyone to value even the simplest things and to carry a spirit of thankfulness in all that they do.
Thank you, Ryan, for your time, wisdom, and for inspiring the next generation of Southridge Admirals. 💙⚓
