DESCRIPTION: Office Administration: eLearning Approach
This course provides DOMT students insights on the theory and current practice of administrative office systems. It also focuses on preparing them for business careers and their need to be on the “cutting edge” of technology and human relations to maximize the use of information tools and procedures in their work.
The course also covers a variety of core skills and software applications an Administrator is likely to use in their day-to-day activities, such as the Microsoft Office, which cover Excel, Word, and PowerPoint presentation.
TIME ALLOTMENT: 17 weeks/54 hours

COURSE OBJECTIVES
1. Discuss the fundamentals of effective office administration.
2. Stress the role of office administrators in using the tools of information technology required in the battle to increase productivity.
3. Learn the main concepts needed to understand the services used by successful office administrators.
4. Explain how office administrators/managers evaluate the productivity of their office systems and the importance of living within their budgets.
5. Propose solutions to the different problems which office administration covers.
6. Prepare a case study employing the different human relation techniques in the
office.
7. Deepen the student’s understanding on the different functions and essentials of effective office administration.
8. Familiar students in the various aspects of managerial behavior, leadership styles, managerial functions and teambuilding.
