Empowering Young Minds, Inspiring Brighter Futures
A meaningful day of learning, reflection, and inspiration unfolded at the Bahay Pag-Asa Residential Care Center, Cabanatuan City, through the “Kaalaman para sa Kinabukasan: Pulong-Aralan sa Kagalingang Pangkaisipan at Panlipunan, Pagkakapantay ng Kababaihan at Kalalakihan sa Kaunlaran, Agham ng Panahon at Klima, Bilangan, at Pangangalaga sa Kalikasan,” conducted under the LIPAT Project on August 17, 2026.
Serving as the kick-off session of the activity series, the event marked the beginning of a continuing learning journey for the children, with succeeding sessions to be conducted focusing on the different topics covered by the program. Through these sessions, the children will be provided with more opportunities to learn, reflect, participate, and develop knowledge and skills that can help them build a more positive path forward.
The activity began with welcome remarks from Mr. Richard Velayo, Center Head of Bahay Pag-Asa.
The session on Kagalingang Pangkaisipan at Panlipunan (Psychosocial Well-being) was facilitated by Dr. Peachy G. Domingo, Chair of the Department of Social Sciences, who guided the children in understanding their emotions, experiences, and personal journeys. Through an engaging activity, they were encouraged to reflect on their lives and express the experiences that have shaped them.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mark Bryan Gusi, Instructor at the University Gender and Development Office, discussed gender equality, highlighting the importance of fairness, respect, and equal opportunities for everyone. The discussion reminded the children that each person has value and the capacity to contribute positively to their families and communities.
