This is the official debate society of City College of Calapan.
Aletheia is variously translated as "unconcealedness, disclosure, revealing, or unclosedness." The literal meaning of the word ἀλήθεια is "the state of not being hidden; the state of being evident. It also means factuality or reality. It is the antonym of lethe, which literally means "oblivion, forgetfulness, or concealment" according to Pindar's First Olympian Ode.
In Greek mythology, aletheia was personified as a Greek goddess, Aletheia. In some accounts, she was a daughter of Zeus, while Aesop's Fables state she was crafted by Prometheus. In interpretatio graeca, she was equated with Veritas, the Roman goddess of truth.

As a debate society, we seek to promote an environment where members are honed in critical and systems thinking skills in the art of argumentation and communication. Moreover, students are formed in intellectual discipline and moral character as they become more aware and keen of the various socio-economic, political, moral, religious, and ecological issues in our province, country and the world at large.
