Mina National High School (MNHS) Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) President Louise Bhordz M. Alave took part in the Capacity Building for selected learners: Strengthening Minds and Hearts through Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Batch 2 at MO2 Westown Hotel, Benigno Aquino Avenue, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
With an aim to amplify and strengthen SEL, Alave along with approximately 46 student leaders joined the 3-day training.
Moreover, the training was led by Youth Formation Division (YFD) Coordinators Marianne Joy M. Polonan and Jennifer T. Cubos.
The event included five pillars/competencies: (1) Self Awareness, (2) Self Management, (3) Social Awareness, (4) Relationship Skills, and (5) Responsible Decision-making.
Different speakers also graced the event and lectured about the five competencies as well as "How to Stop a Red Flag in Bullying" and "Ang Bata sa Digital World."
A team-building activity and social night was conducted on Day 2 of the capacity building, forming deep bonds among the student leaders.
Furthermore, Alave shared insights on his experience and emphasized his gratitude and remembrance for the event.
"Surely, as this journey ends, I will forever be grateful and have the time to look back and remember every star that shined here, every flower that blossomed, and everyone who soared to greater heights," Alave stated.
