DNHS launches Nutrition Month 2026 with healthy lifestyle, environmental drives
Dilangalen National High School (DNHS), through the initiative of the Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) Department, officially launched the Nutrition Month 2026 Celebration with a series of activities promoting healthy living and environmental responsibility among learners and school personnel, July 13, Monday.
Carrying the national theme, "Sa PPAN: Sama-sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat!" and the sub-theme, "Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan!", the opening program highlighted the importance of proper nutrition, active lifestyles, and sustainable practices in building healthier communities.
The students, teachers, and staff pledged to adopt nutritious eating habits, engage in regular physical activity, and support initiatives that promote overall wellness and environmental preservation.
To encourage daily exercise, participants joined a lively Zumba session, emphasizing the role of physical fitness in maintaining a healthy body and preventing lifestyle-related diseases.
The program also featured informative talks that discussed the significance of Nutrition Month, the goals of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN), the value of balanced diets, and the connection between proper nutrition and environmental stewardship.
As part of the campaign, learners were encouraged to participate in the "Bring a Healthy Lunch Box" initiative during lunchtime by bringing nutritious and well-balanced meals prepared at home.
The celebration also showcased students' knowledge and creativity through an Essay Writing Contest and a Team Quiz, both designed to deepen participants' understanding of nutrition, health, and wellness.
The month-long celebration will continue with several engaging activities, including the Search for a Healthy Classroom, Digital Advocacy Contest, Healthy Snack Day, Poster-Making Contest, and Slogan-Making Contest. These activities aim to strengthen students' awareness of healthy eating, environmental conservation, and the importance of making informed lifestyle choices.
Through the annual observance, the DNHS TLE Department hopes to inspire the entire school community to embrace healthy habits, become advocates of proper nutrition, and contribute to a healthier and more sustainable future.
